Foshizzel – When it comes to the best wingman I have to give it to Orito for being one of the coolest bros to Aikawa even though I think he only hangs out with the main character in hopes of getting closer to the harem of lovely girls!
skylion – Satoshi from Hyouka comes quickly to my mind, as a winger he sometimes flew a bit to close to his lead, but that’s a rainbow database for you. Tetsuro from Ano Natsu advanced the characterization, and provided a calm character who’s heart was still in turmoil, to a perplexed Kaito.
Kaitune – Iskandar is The Best Bro Ever. I like Fate Zero as much as I did purely because of him. (And maybe a bit because of Gil. That guy is just a darn fabulous hedonist.) The Fairies (Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita): They are so adorably creepy. They are also in the very best episodes of the show too. Or perhaps those episodes were the very best because of them?

Highway – Oka Ayuko from Nazo no Kanojo X. The person who wormed her way into friendship with Urabe, and became a huge catalyst for Urabe and Tsubaki’s relationship movement. Natsume Asako from Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. Almost a lead character, Asako had to work through her own friendship issues to try to be a friend to Shizuku, who didn’t really want to have friends.
Foshizzel – I love me some pirates and Hanazawa Kana brings Kurihara Chiaki to life, sure when we first meet Chiaki she comes off as a mean bossy chick, but of course she just wants to push Marika to her full potential as a future space pirate captain!
lvlln – Uryuu Minene from the great Future Diary was such a badass, managing to survive to the end despite being the 2nd episode villain. And boy did people die easily in that show.
akagami – Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon II’s Neito Mitotsudaira: Nate and Tori’s scenes were so cute and fun! Especially when Tori was pampering her after her fight ^^ And her loyalty to Tori (from his classroom promise, damn, I teared up when the whole class sided with Tori as he was walking down the steps in S1). Also, Aoi Kimi is the world strongest dancer!

Highway – Ousawa Akatsuki from Hagure Yuusha no Sexual Harassment. That they put a guy like him in a series was great. Basically, he couldn’t lose, just so much more powerful than anyone else. Was an awesome way to have the show go.
Akagami – Otonashi Io from Acchi Kocchi: Jumping out of a second floor window and those pen-twirling skills? And he’s a natural lady-killer!
Jrow – Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, a normal dude that can hang with any special or abnormal is cool in my book. Also a male tsundere. lvlln – Nyaruko from Haiyore! Nyaruko-san and Koko Hekmatyar from Jormungand were 2 white-haired beauties who made their shows so much better when taking the spotlight. Can’t forget the title character Mikoto Urabe from Mysterious Girlfriend X. All the comediennes from Joshiraku deserve mention, but I have to highlight Buratei Marii for being the poor butt of every joke, often featuring her butt. Karen Araragi let her brother brush her teeth in Nisemonogatari.
Foshizzel – Rinne no Lagrange fans were treated to a wonderful main character this year named Kyouno Madoka. A girl you could call hyper, crazy, strong and happy all the time, but sometimes her personality got the better of her during mech on mech combat. I can’t mention Madoka without giving a huge shout out to Katou Marika from Mouretsu pirates, at first glace she doesn’t appear to be nothing special, but get her in the captain seat and she will do something amazing!
skylion – I just have to put Rikka Takanashi at the top of this list. So much about her is praise-worthy, but I will take her sheer scope of imagination as the best. She’s cute, but her dreams are sweeter. Nyaruko-san could almost win thou sheer genki and exotic food ingredients. But she still has to contend with the awesome that is Captain Marika. Let’s Pirate!

Highway – Takanashi Rikka and Togashi Yuuta. Even though Yuuta almost blew it, he gathered it back together to make a great save. Two people who really should be together. Tachibana Mei and Kurosawa Yamato, another show where they were a couple the whole series, which gave a great change to the normal shoujo framing of ‘will they get together or won’t they?’ This meant the show could work through the reference frame of “how does a couple deal with setbacks” rather than two people who just want to be a couple.
lvlln – Koyomi Araragi & Hitagi Senjougahara from Nisemonogatari is a nice one, though the recent Nekomonogatari might have people wishing for Koyomi Araragi & Tsubasa Hanekawa. Akira Tsubaki & Mikoto Urabe were what drove all of Mysterious Girlfriend X, and they did a wonderful job of carrying an entire series. The wonderfully dysfunctional Yuno & Yuki team/couple was one of the many highlights of Future Diary. And can’t forget Hyouka’s main couple, the entire driver of the show, Eru Chitanda & Houtarou Oreki. Though Satoshi Fukube & Mayaka Ibara were quite cute as well.
Kyokai – Koyomi & Senjougahara will remain to be favourite couple but another one that really touched my heart last year was of Rokka and Ryousuke‘s. Love is pretty hard in itself and the dramatic scenarios that played across Natsuyuki Rendezvous, really highlighted their struggle and the weird things people do in love. A really sweet love story.

Gecko – Caster of Fate/Zero. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Anyone who kills children just should go be the villain.
Foshizzel – Looking at this long list of baddies I don’t think any SAO fan can forget the mentally insane Sugou from ALfhiem Online! Molesting Asuna landed that villain on Kirito’s personal death note and Eureka Seven Ao fans loved to hate on Truth every week, who the hell was that guy? Was he evil or misunderstood? Either way those two baddies were crazy yet entertaining.
lvlln – Yuno Gasai from Future Diary is a great one. Her tying up Yuki to take care of him was unforgettable. Kaiki Deishuu from Nisemonogatari is sure to be a fan favorite too. Urara, the epic alien fish villain of Tsuritama was lovable, and I loved that his big intro closed out the series. I was also a fan of K‘s antagonist the Colorless King, who proved to be an extremely cunning and resilient foe.
Kaitune – Deishuu Kaikil is such a perfect villain. It is hard to put in proper word why he is so. How he carry himself. How the whole tone just change when he appears… His evilness almost seem effortless. Sugou is very badly written in the best way possible. Technically, everything he did should fill me with fire of thousand exploding sun, but I can’t stop grinning like an idiot whenever he shows up.
Kyokai – A good villain is the one you really hate and though I did mention some good and bad ones from Gintam’, the one that really stands out to me is Kotomine Kirei. Fate/Zero is where we really his transformation from a brooding priest to a voyeuristic sadist who laughs at other people’s agony. Of course, Gilgamesh played a part in the transformation but a darkness was always inside him and by the culmination of Fate/Zero all of us saw it.

Whoa. There were some squeakers up there.
A few choices were quite hard to let go of (Sorry, Buratei Marii, Sorry Koko, I loves me some Mitzy-chan and some AKA-RIN! so much more). But then, picking out all the best girls is tough on the Skylion.
In their categories, you can be sure that Dekomori, Shinka, Richiyo, Oda, and the Ibara’s all got first picks.

I think I only used all 7 selections in one category. The rest either had a group so far ahead that the rest didn’t measure up, or I didn’t have anyone to vote for (honestly, I can’t vote for Noumi or Sugou, and I don’t really know that Akihiko was a villain, and I don’t know really about any of the rest).
