Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 1000% – 12

That awkward moment when you realize you’ve been kicked out of the harem

ONE MORE EPISODE AFTER THIS. ….I don’t know how to feel about this. On one hand, no more sparkling bishies. On the other, no more watching said sparkling bishies trip over themselves trying to get a girl who doesn’t even seem to realize that she’s built herself a harem.

Right from the start, there’s a Miyuki Sawashiro music insert. Also, Haruka is so worried about Tokiya, she starts flying towards the moon. However, this is just a dream and the next morning, the news about Hayato being a student at Saotome Academy is out on TV. Everyone is surprised except for Haruka and Shining, who didn’t even bother telling the teachers.

Once the harem finds out, they get pretty pissy saying that Tokiya was just making fun of them the whole time because he’s already debuted. Haruka stand up for him, but since Tokiya is still stuck god knows where in traffic, the bishies aren’t convinced.

After all of the bishies split up, they go to their BL usual partner and talk about Tokiya (minus Otoya, who stares at his cell phone). Collectively, they realize that Haruka chose all of them despite Tokiya being her idol and she’s thinking about all of them, so that makes them somewhat less angry. They’re still not sure if they want Tokiya in the harem though.

The sad/funny part is that Tomo gets more action here than some of the bishies did in their episodes

Meanwhile, Haruka goes outside wondering what to do. There, she sees a glowing radioactive bird and this somehow reminds her of Tokiya’s bishie sparkles. She follows the bird and it leads her to Tokiya, who just arrived at school. Damn, that must have been one hell of a traffic jam.

Wtf is with this show and radioactive animals?

Tokiya apologizes and suddenly the harem (plus Tomo) have conveniently gathered for no reason. Maybe they followed the glowing bird too. Anyways, Tokiya apologizes for not showing up ever and the harem yell at him for going to idol school despite already being an idol. Tokiya gives them his sob story about how his manager wouldn’t let him sing and he asks them to let him back into the harem because Haruka’s songs saved him somehow.

The harem (mostly Ren) questions how serious he is since he was against forming the harem in the first place. However, Tokiya says that he’s changed his opinion over the course of the last two episodes and that it doesn’t matter who sings the best. He then confesses that he loves Haruka!!!…..’s music. She starts crying. (I started crying here too, but my tears were from the pain of violently hitting my head against my desk in frustration.)

And so everyone watched this awkwardly.

Bishies #1-5 seem to accept this grudgingly and everyone is back to getting along. Shining, who has been watching this entire thing from god knows where suddenly flips a switch and the entire campus lights up fabulously. Shining suddenly makes an announcement over national television about a new idol group composed of Haruka’s harem called (lol should have seen this coming from the CD) Starish. Also, they have their own freaking blimp.

So the harem all go to Shining’s office to ask wtf is up and why they’re debuting without an audition. Shining says that they’ll be using the publicity from the Hayato/Tokiya incident, that he could tell that their fabulousness was off the charts in the first place and that his intuition on these things is never wrong. Haruka gets excited, but Shining says that (GASP) Haruka won’t be writing their debut song. Instead, Shining is having the greatest composer in Japan do it, and if she wants to write for the bishies, she’ll have to overcome the ‘God of Composers’.

And here’s where I noticed that Shining doesn’t appear to have eyebrows

End Thoughts: Lol, what a depressingly bland music insert this was after last episode’s. Also, SO MUCH DORAMA. Lolololol they have a pretty good set up for the final episode. Something tells me that Haruka will need a lot of bishie support to accomplish this as opposed to her default method of not sleeping for days when she writes music. …Speaking of, just where did Shining get those pictures of the bishies posing from? Is he even allowed to hijack TV broadcasts like that? How the hell did he get a blimp up that fast? And is there anything this guy does that’s not outrageously fabulous?

Poor Haruka. First she spends 3 episodes trying the form a harem and deal with their silly problems, then she’s kicked out of it because she’s not fabulous enough. I have a feeling that Shining is doing this to push her talents though, because he seems to like doing things like that. Also, he’s giving her a chance here. He could have easily told her to get lost if he wasn’t expecting anything from her. Though there’s also a possibility that the bishies will band together and force Shining to accept her music because it’s Haruka or nothing for them. Before this anime, I would have never thought that writing music would ever be this fabulous or dramatic XD.

…. But other than that, GAH unless A-1 pulls something out of nowhere last minute, it looks like Haruka WILL be doing the whole harem ending thing. Tokiya’s whole dramatic confession thing was totally anticlimactic. I guess they just threw in all of that extra Tokiya drama to drag out the series… At least I still have my game. Kind of. It finally arrived, but I have yet to play it much thanks to school. SIGH.

What a weird show this is. It seems to invert the natural order of things, by which I mean, the most stupid things, that would upset me in a normal show, are really the wrong points in this one. Example:

“and suddenly the harem (plus Tomo) have conveniently gathered for no reason.”

And you know I could have pulled almost any other sentence as an equally valid example (radioactive bird, blimp, etc.)

Essentially when it tries to seriously handle something like plot, it just doesn’t work for me, but it works well as long as it is doing something so stupid that it is OTT.

Ahaha too true. UtaPri just isn’t UtaPri without something stupidly outrageous going on. I think that’s why I like it though because this anime fails when it tries to take itself seriously.

“I LOVE….your music!” THEY SERIOUSLY PULLED THIS AGAIN?!?! *headdesk*
I have to say, I found it incredibly hilarious that Haruka was kicked out of her own harem. XD Shining Saotome is obviously pushing for the BL route.

HARUKA NEEDS TO GET HER BITCH ON.

Does she not realise that SHE is the object of everyone’s affection? MANIPULATE THEM A LITTLE YOU SISSY.

Also, I’m fairly sure that principal is in no way qualified to do that job, and will probably be sued heavily for kidnapping after everyone realises that place is not a real school and he’s just hoarding all the talent to make himself look better (which isn’t working, because he just look bat shit insane, omg).

    • Karakuri says:

Ahaha that would be awesome to see.

And yeah, how he ever got that job is beyond me. In the game, he also apparently has a physician’s license. WHO THE HELL THOUGHT THAT GIVING HIM THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA?!

Crying of laughter from that end picture. SHININGGGGGGG

    This series… just WHY.
Man Saotome and his fabulousness. IT CAN MAKE ANYTHING HAPPENNN

“I L..Lo…. LOVE YOU…..r music!! its saved me so many times and stuff!!”

Why do I feel like I’ve been trolled?

As for the harem ending that is eminent, who knows they could do alternate endings with each bishe in OVA-formn >_> *cough probably not cough* =(

    • Karakuri says:

Lol, probably because we’ve been expecting actual romance or something. Silly us.

I wish! That would be awesome… I’ve always thought that the set up they did in Amagami and Yosuga no Sora was pretty good where each route had their own couple of episodes…

You never know though. There’s a sequel game coming out in winter, so they might make another season of anime after it’s out.
