Sacred Seven – 08 – 09

Hellbrick sends his love to all the fans!

No I didn’t drop this series yet! I was half busy doing some other things, anyway I am still having fun watching this even though most people do not find it interesting anymore. Well time to jump into this double episode review for eight and nine! Enjoy.

Episode eight starts with Alma and Ruri getting into an argument about Alma helping her fight the Darkstones after she presents him a contract, it really makes him quite angry. That is until Hellbrick gets a bright idea on how to get Alma and Ruri to quit fighting and work together. Episode nine deals with Alma fighting off Darkstones as usual. He is also getting some secret training with Makoto and the maids, which wears him out mentally and physically affecting his school work. Then suddenly two Darkstones appear at the same time and as usual, it’s up to Ruri, Makoto and Alma to defeat the two and save the city from being destroyed.

Ruri- “We could have our own special training…yes…”

What is Hellbrick’s actual plan? Well his plan requires them to go on a “date” and find a certain stone to repair Hellbrick. The two of them put aside their argument and get ready for their date. Ruri has no idea what a date really is anyway but goes through with the plan to help. While the two of them are finally alone and somewhat used to each other, Ruri has an emotional breakdown thinking Alma really hates her, but she learns he has a kind side to him and some new things about his past.

Alma- “I..I le..let you win…stupid…girl with hair….”

We start things off with Alma walking down the street with Wakana headed to school; the two of them have a random chat about the rock club and she tells him that he has really changed since she first met him long ago. She tells him that he was just like a rock back then and she wanted to add him to her collection… Is this a confession!? Well, I don’t think so…Wakana really is not the smartest cookie out there. Alma gets so into his training that he forgets his homework. I think every anime character needs a safe to keep all their assignments in… Anyway, Makoto decides to help Alma out and makes a study guide for a late math test.

Wakana-“OH DAMN, YOU ARE TALL!”           Alma-“You just noticed?… Wow you have rocks for brains.”

After the fun math test! We learn there are suddenly two massive Darkstones headed towards the city to destroy it. Why? Because those monsters really hate buildings and people! So everyone gets divided into two teams. Ruri and Makoto standby charging a giant laser canon to take on a short fat Darkstone, while Alma fights the taller more aggressive one, which beats Alma fast. That is until he summons the willpower to continue the fight. Alma makes quick work over the Darkstone and rushes over to help Makoto and Ruri defeat the other Darkstone that absorbs everything, after defeating both of them they suddenly combine into one giant missile headed to the city. I kind of figured those Darkstone would combine into something. In the end, Alma turns into energy and flies through the air to take out the threat saving the day.

Alma- “Dude, do you work out? Those legs are huge and dangerous to my face.”

Makoto-“When I said eat my missiles! I really did not mean ACTUALLY EAT IT….”

Ruri- “Awwww look how cute its hungry guys.”             Makoto-“You really are something special ojo-sama.”

Alma- “I WILL WIN! With the power of fists!”

Extra powers

The faces! They are so cute and the giant eyes on Ruri.

Alma-“Darkstone….toes….smell….about….to…pass….out…”

Terrified maids need your protection, Alma or I can step in for you…

Wakana-“Buhahaha with these rocks I WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!”               Alma-“Right…..”

End Thoughts:

These two episodes were great! Well I will be honest I found episode eight really boring. Sure we had some great character progression with Ruri and Alma getting closer but I always saw them as a couple anyway so it really was not all that interesting. However I did enjoy watching all those random expressions she had this time! And I couldn’t help but laugh at the huge size difference in character designs, Alma is so freaking tall! That episode really goes crazy with its size difference. Watching Ruri stand near Alma always cracks me up she looks like a child compared to him. The highlight of the episode for me was Hellbrick and his sneaky plan to make them get closer as a couple, and those maids at the end! So many maids…

Episode nine really shows off more Wakana and Alma together, sure we might not really see them as couple but I do like how they have a special friendship together. I thought it was nice how she really was not afraid of him and wanted him in her club showing the other students that he wasn’t all bad, so Wakana you are awesome just for that. I really enjoyed the ending of this episode where Alma puts away the stone Wakana gave him and that line about it saving his life; of course, that just goes over her head but still it was nice.

I really loved watching Alma’s fight against that tall Darkstone! This series really loves to show scale compared to Alma who is already a giant himself going up against something that large. I couldn’t help but laugh when the giant Darkstone used its toes to pick Alma up by his throat! So hilarious! Anyway I had lots of fun watching Alma summon up all that fighting spirit to kick some ass this week. Just goes to show he really can use his power if he pushes himself to do so, and turning into raw energy?! Amazing! I was happy they turned up the action with this episode, because lately I felt this show was running out of steam for raw action.

Preview

We need a Mayo Chiki and Sacred Seven cross over! Subaru and Makoto, best butlers ever.

Next week! We take a trip to the past for Makoto and Ruri or Ruri’s sister? Even Knight makes an appearance too, so it looks like we are in for a fun flashback filled episode.

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

I spent the entire ‘date’ episode screaming ‘KISS HER’ at the screen, it was annoying the shit out of me.

    Hellbrick, best character of 2011

    • Foshizzel says:

LOL Yep same here Junko! That was a great episode for “bonding” but that’s it nothing more…

      Agreed Hellbrick is great!! 😀

  2. Reaper says:

Mm, agreed with ep 8 but every series like this one needs an ep like that at some point so, better to get it over with earlier for most action down the line. As for ep 9…bahahahaha! Those two Darkstones made me laugh, they’re like the Thinker brought to destructive life, as well as Wakana’s facial expressions…oh, they crack me up! It’s almost the makers are trolling through her happy-go-lucky attitude (though I feel sad she got regulated to a minor character from a more important character at the beginning). Oh well, we digress for the next ep! but there is something bugging me…WE NEED MOAR MAID TIME! I mean, they have, what thirteen maids? and they are only shown rarely. More maids with big guns please! Oh wait, maid with big guns, that sounds familiar…oh sh-! 🙂

    • Foshizzel says:

True you have a good point, better to deal with it early and skip to the great stuff like episode 9! Yeah those two darkstones were crazy looking, guess they are “brothers” lolol.

Oh ya Wakana’s expressions are always fun and Ruri! She is either blushing or freaking out….Oh yes moar maids xD

  3. BlackBriar says:

That was clearly a set-up to get Tandoji and Ruri together. The whole getting a piece of a stone to repair Hellbrick was too cliché. Even in his time of dying being cut in half and taped together, Hellbrick is playing matchmaker. He’s awesome.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah Hellbrick was just trying to help out Ruri and Alma get closer so yes he is really awesome for doing that 😀

  4. Yuki says:

I guess I am the only one who is not a fan of Ruri but more to Wakana. lol. Doesnt matter though. Just want to know how are they going to wrap up this series in the next… 3 eps? Correct me if I am wrong~
Gah, I want more Knight. lol.

    • Foshizzel says:

Ruri is alright in my books, Wakana just looks more like the ditsy friendly type but ya I am not really sure this series is pushing love interests to much well besides AlmaXRuri…

Actually four episodes left, twelve episodes total.

      Yes more Knight please!

  5. amado says:

man I didnt like the date between alma and ruri. it was bland and the reasoning was quite bad. didnt help that everyone else was shipping them which made me even more against the pairing.
*sigh* even the small talk between wakana and alma felt more romantic to me.
they got to use a proper formula for it to be romantic…

    • Foshizzel says:

Yep that date between Alma and Ruri was kind of forced, well they are forced to work together since Ruri has to be around him to transform so naturally they are a “couple”

Yeah I suppose you can see the special connection between Alma and Wakana more.

  6. Kyokai says:

Seems like there are going everywhere with the plot. Focus, people, focus! I don’t want a half-assed end! >.>

    • Foshizzel says:

Well we have four more episodes to go! Hopefully we get like two action packed episodes and the final two story and a decent ending….I hope….

  7. Elyon says:

Alma looks kind of like he could be Ruri’s father….o.O I didn’t notice before how freakin’ HUGE he is in comparison to everyone else in the show before.

I agree with Junko- HELLBRICK FTW!!!!

  8. paulo_sy91 says:

Thank for those photos you commented. Its fun to read.

So at episode 9, Hellbrick’s distant relatives are the enimies.

As i view 8-9 i notice Kenmi don’t look much of a rich guy this time. cause i notice he does not have any other people but his SP and Butler to spy around, babysit Zero(Fei’s Brother) and guard the base. Unlike Yuri, she got a lot of Maiden soldiers. guess Yuri is reall a money spinner
