End Note by Kyokai:

I hope you enjoyed our take on mecha and this is for all the mecha fans out there who think Metanorn hates ’em. Naaawww, we can never do that and I think I proved the point with some of us going more than overboard fangirling few series. As it has to be said, we noticed some voice degradation in the beginning of the podcast but the connection was troubling and Amuro did fix it stat. Next episode with be with AAA peeps and will be released quicker than this. Look forward to it. Till next time. Ja ne~

Thanks again to Amuro for dropping by. We had loads of fun chatting him up. You can listen to him more at Anivision.

That looks like a lot of mecha. Wowww.
I’ll probably listen to this another time. I’m not really into mechs. Though I have to say the music intermissions are nice. Good choices!

Another note: I’m so glad Metanorn is finally back up. I was refreshing the browser basically all day.

    • Foshizzel says:

LOL Yeah there are a lot 😉

No worries! Even if you are not into mecha its just fun getting to talk about them with all kinds of people.

      Oh we are too!

    • Amuro1X says:

You know you want to listen to it just so you can hear my wonderful voice.

      • Amuro1X says:

And when I say “wonderful voice” I mean of course robotic voice for the first half. It gets better though! I’m sorry about that everyone!

    • Jrow says:

The music intermissions are indeed nice. Putting Chiaki Ishikawa and Chemistry songs in is much fun for me.

Hope you do enjoy the podcast. Perhaps we’ll have mentioned a series that’ll pique interest.

  2. BlackBriar says:

That’s a lot of mecha. Enough of it to please any mecha fan, and there’s even Gundams and Sacred Seven. Fosh, wherever you are, I know you’re enjoying every bit of it!! Don’t lie!! LOL.

I’m so glad Metanorn is finally back up. I was starting to think the problem was in my computer because I was refreshing every time then eventually gave up on it.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yes! I was having a lot of fun with this hahaha course its giant robots! My overall favorite subject. Well I couldn’t leave out Sacred Seven even thou most say its lame I really do enjoy it.

Thanks were glad it finally returned! Woooooo!!

      • BlackBriar says:

As expected of The Shizznit. Then no doubt you enjoyed Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It was better than the first and certainly a lot better than the second even though it had that awesome combination transformer Devastator.

        • Foshizzel says:

Yeah I saw that a few weeks ago! Great action movie lots of explosions and stuff xD LOL Devastator so awesome looking xD

  3. Foshizzel says:

Main image is awesome! Nice work <3

Glad we had so much fun doing this! Sure Mecha are not up there on every ones list of favorite genre of anime, but it can be fun!

  4. Amuro1X says:

Woo! I gotta say thanks again for having me on. It was a fun time and you all know I love talking about mecha. Maybe next time you can get me for another one of my expertise: Magical Girls!

    • Foshizzel says:

Thanks for joining us for the awesome mecha talk! Ahahah yes! We should bring in some others for more talk of shows, magical girls loolol OC You are up!

Yet again, great podcast guys! Amuro is a really cool guy to listen to; very enthusiastic! I’m with him 100% on the whole Misa > Minmei thing. The latter is the type of character that would be played today by Kana Hanazawa in full-on Nessa/Shiro mode. Bleugh!

I’m not that knowledgeable on mecha, other than the weird bio-robot shows like Eva, Rahxephon (nice choice including the Maaya Sakmoto OP in the background), Gasaraki, etc, so it was great to hear a discussion on the main contenders. Maybe one day I’ll get round to watching some Gundam.

I am actually working my through the entirety Macross for the first time, so was perhaps a little disappointed there was no mention of M7, which I’m attempting to watch right now. It would have been great to hear other people trash that series; perhaps I’m one of the few committed/dumb enough to watch the whole show. Oh well, guess I’ll go back on twitter and argue with Ghostlighting about how bad it is, haha.

Most memorable quote = “LISTEN TO MY SONG!!!!”

PS. Anyone play Xenogears? That was a great mecha game, like Evangelion only more complicated and heavier, story wise (yeah, you heard that right!).

    • Jrow says:

Maybe Amuro has watched Macross 7 and just didn’t mention it (I’ll have to check or you could find him on twitter @Amuro1X).

I played just some of Xenosaga, but I am aware of the success of Xenogears on PS1.

  6. Neena says:

What’s so interesting about mecha?Aside from the fact that there’s a lot of shooting

  7. Moni Chan says:

i’m not really the mecha fan, but i’m slowly becoming one because of this podcast

    • Jrow says:

There’s some good mecha out there. I mean yeah, robots are the ones hogging all the focus and such, but there’s some good story driven ones. We didn’t even mention Full Metal Panic which has a good story, interesting comedy and the Arbalest mecha which is kind of neat.
