The thing with gintama is that to understand most of the parody and tsukkomis, you mainly have to be residing in japan. For us foreigners you have to be watching japanese tv or be searching stuff up about stuff on what they say.

Yeah same! I guess Gintama producers can get just about anyone to join their series even for a one shot arc.
Yeah good point a lot of the political jokes or jokes about real people in Gintama usually fly over my head, but I do remember Barrack Obama appearing one time in the past hahaha
