Yoru no Yatterman – 10

Too many cooks err generals.

Welcome back to more Yoru no Yatterman! With two episodes left will we finally discover what really happened to the famous Yatterman?! I certainly hope so…

————————————–

Where are the real heroes!?

This was super cute!

The quest to head flick the Yatterman continues as Leopard and friends infiltrate the city; however they quickly discovered something quite shocking because if you remember a while back we saw some people get recruited, but instead of becoming soldiers for the Yatterman army they have been turned into slaves and to make matters worse they are being brainwashed to obey the Yatterman no matter what! Also they are getting constant reminders about the “heros” that are trying to save the world? I wonder why do robots need all these human workers? While that was going on we had our usual fight of the week and to my surprise the team failed and were captured by the Yatterman after putting up a decent fight.

I suppose it really wasn’t all that shocking since Leopard and the others have lost just about every other major battle. but of course they still have to make it inside the main tower which they did after facing a few random generals because Goro was unable to do his job. So was anyone else thinking damn those guys didn’t waste any time putting everyone up for that public execution! Maybe they don’t have time to mess around with the whole trial thing huh? Just kidding! There is no way in hell that our team of heroes are going to be killed off that fast because for some reason the Yatteman leader wanted to meet them in person? Before they met the leader I was thinking that maybe he was super impressed that a LOLi could face his army of robots and not be afraid? I also kept thinking what if the leader was actually Leopards father since he really hasn’t been mentioned at all or was he and I missed it? Whatever the case we learned that the true leader was Great Dokurobey? I kinda forgot about him, but I guess he is like Leopards grandpa or something? Yeah he has some explaining to do…

Extra Yatterman

Silly grandpa why did you take over the world?

End thoughts

I swear that public execution scene was so damn hilarious with Tonzura and Boyacky’s last words and of course we all probably knew that Boyacky would have something perverted to say before being killed off and wow Tonzura wanted to eat Oda? I guess some guys can’t pass up free bacon huh? Yeah I got a good laugh out of that moment, but the best moment this week was obviously the reveal at the end with being the leader of the new Yatterman army which brings up a whole new set of questions like where are the original Yatterman? How and why did he take over and use robots to cause so much chaos? I assume we will learn more next week with some special flashbacks.

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

First off, I still don’t get the too many cooks joke. Is it just a parody of dumb sitcom openings?

As for the epiosde: Yatterman, you got some explaining to do!!!!

Yeah it’s just a parody on sitcom openings of the 80’s tv shows I recommend watching the original video for a few laughs and lots of WTF hahaha

I know right? What the hell is going on?!

Unless I missed my guess, the header of the post with the 12 generals would be parodying the opening of the Brady Bunch, right?

I kinda suspected that the Dokurobey would be behind it all, seeing as how he played very large in the shows opening moments.

That was one hell of a twist at the end. One I certainly didn’t see coming. The development has raised more questions than what is already there. If Great Dokurobey is the one behind this iron-fisted dictatorship, does this mean Doronbow really were the bad guys or is this just him alone going rogue, doing whatever he pleases?

12 generals. The city can’t be so big that it needs so many to keep order. I’m guessing there are… what… 12 sectors. Each one under a general’s command who all answer to their one leader. And Boyacky’s so-called last words. It’s safe to say he wants to be remembered as an avid pervert. Tonzra wanting to eat Oda. No sense of loyalty or camaraderie. With friends like that, enemies aren’t needed.

@Fosh: Take a look at my comment count. It’s over 9000!!! It seems I made good on the prediction you made on one of the MetaVerse podcasts.

Well, I’m back from my spring break trip, so I get to give my ideas on this episode. 🙂

This was one of, if not the best episode so far.

Leaving most of their slapstick hi-jinks behind, this episode went full steam ahead into the grim dark. Everything reminds me of a dystopian apocalypse movie, mixed with Nazi concentration/labor camp vibes.

We have dead woods that are filled to the brim with headstones with only numbers on them as graves of the many that have been killed or worked to death here.
We have labor camps of people who are brainwashed night and day and are worked to the bone with extremely poor working conditions. And at this point, they are little more than mindless drone shells that can only praise the great Lord Yatterman.
We have propaganda videos playing all over the city all the time, as the only form of anything these people see on a daily basis.
We have horrible shacks and slums as far as can be seen that is hidden by the glare of the lifeless, but coldly bright skyscrapers of the inner city.
The entire kingdom is a nightmare, but this place? This place is truly a hell on Earth.

We meet the 12 Yatter Guardian gods this go round, but actually, we’ve already met one of them, as it seems that the “guardian gods” is just a term for Lord Yatterman’s team of generals that lead the rest of his forces. General Goro was one of the 12, but was imprisoned as of last episode. We see the other 11 this episode, and it’s actually rather sad when you know that Goro is really Allouette’s father that was made into a cyborg and brainwashed into becoming a loyal soldier of Yatterman, then these other 11 are probably the same way. (Also, for all those who didn’t notice, all of their names are actually numbers 1-12 with and added suffix of -ro at the end, and if you look closely at their faces, the tattoos under their eyes are actually stylized numbers. Goro’s is “5” if you look closely.) All good powerful people that were stolen from their homes and families, tortured, experimented on, and mind-wiped, and now serve the very thing that they hate.

But what and who is Yatterman really? Our team is about to find out when they are captured quite easily by the combined forces of the 11 guardian god generals and they are about to be executed, until they are saved in the nick of time by–Lord Yatterman? He requests to see them, and they are glad to finally be facing their main foe. However, things aren’t as they seem, and the team is about to be crushed by a stunning(ly obvious ) revelation.

The leader known as “Lord Yatterman” is actually Dokurobe, who lead the Durombo gang in the original series by sending them on tasks, only for them to find that he had been tricking them the whole time. Dokurobe, who they thought of as a hero, has done all of this in the name of the real Yatterman heroes and dragged their names and their reputations in the mud beyond all repair. Little Leopard thought the villains and heroes in her storybook had been flipped around, but her mother had been right the entire time. Dokurobe is behind all of this, and the Yatterman were good heroes, that he exploited.

So, how will little Leopard take this reveal, and how will she stop this evil alien overlord? Well, we have two more episodes left for them to defeat him, free the people, find Allouette’s dad, and help everyone else. Hopefully, this night that has fallen on the Yatterman legacy, will be lifted soon.
