Fruit of the Meh: Feels like the MC is doing a Walk-through on a bunch of tropey tropes. The first one barely held my interest, and I fell asleep the second one, so dropped it then.

Vanadis:Everything feels so wrong. It’s a potboiler political piece where they forgot to turn on the gas. None of the characters hold much of my interest, and it seems there are too many of them doing the same thing.

Twintails:It’s obvious the super-powered LOLi would hold my interest, but it needs more than that. Luckily this is a show that won’t take itself seriously, and will be willing to play with the tropes and genres it picks. How well they do it, seems to be week to week.

Sumairii, you missed ImoCho, which did it a few times.

  3. Wanderer says:

The only one of these that is holding my interest, the twintails one, is (perhaps arguably) the shallowest of them all. Yet I just don’t feel any pull to keep watching Vanadis, and Grisaia just doesn’t catch my attention at all.

Re: TwinTails Tsundere. I suspect her name is Twirls, not Twowhatchamacallit, because it definately makes more sense given the naming convention. But yes, it’s such a cheesy and bad show that it is good… Oh, the oxymoronity of things…

Re: Lord Marksman and Vanadis (WhoTF translates shit…), insufficient pettanko. -nuff said-

Re: Grisaia. From somewhere I read the overview of the routes. All I’m going to say now is: Fruit of the Grisly and… *drumroll* NICE BOAT!. That is all.

I love how Grisia isn’t even trying to hide the panty shots. Is it voyeuristic if it covers half the screen?

Right now it feels like the show is trying to have its cake and eat it too. Have plenty of fanservice and tell a deeply human story. While we need to get accustomed to the girls to emphasize with them, I can only hope that they tell the story well. So far the directing is good, the music is straight out of the game, and I enjoy hearing the main characters of a VN’s voice for once.

    No mm mention of Jenga?

Re Vanadis: LN stuff that was removed include
    – Tigre has been Zcthed’s hostage for a month
    – Tigre and Ellen bonding together at a castle town excursion
    – Tita and Tigre’s people trying to secure the ransom for his release
    – The reasons for the Brune-Zcthed war. A river on the Zcted-Brune border burst its banks, and a dispute arose between both sides over the amount of relief effort put there. The Brune Prince’s presence there didn’t improve matters, and war was declared later.

    • Highway says:

Of that stuff, I’d imagine the Tigre x Ellen trip will be done as a fill-in story, since it’ll work better with this show’s timeline after they’ve saved Alsace. That reason for the war is stupid, it’s best if they don’t mention it.

With Tigre ceding Alsace to Zcthed, the ransom doesn’t really matter any more, does it? Now instead of Tigre being the chattel of the enemy, he’s a feudal lord in the employ of Her Majesty (or however they want to call it). Maybe he’s expected to hang around Ellen more than Titta wants, but somehow I don’t think he’ll be too upset about that.

  8. Falmung says:

Vanadis: Who needs armor when you have an impenetrable wind shield. Better to stay light and mobile and let the sword do all the work providing wind armor.

  9. BlackBriar says:

Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu: Thouars so wants to get it on with Souji but she should be careful what she wishes for. I doubt she’d keep her composure if her taunting caused him to become a wild beast.

  10. BlackBriar says:

Madan no Ou to Vanadis: A good strategic battle with a deplorable douche biting the dust. When looked at from another point of view, the events are like nails in Tigre’s coffin. Now that the governance of Alsace has been given to Eleonara as payment for using her forces to drive away the enemy, wouldn’t that mean ransom on Tigre has been closed prematurely? I mean, not only does she have him but his entire homeland.

    • belatkuro says:

Alsace is the payment for Ellen’s service in helping Tigre. Tigre is still considered Ellen’s prisoner of war and the ransom hasn’t been paid yet.
Also, this matter isn’t finished yet. Tigre just killed the son of Thenardier, a powerful noble in Brune. He won’t be left off like that. Alsace’s peace is still not guaranteed and Ellen’s employment is still not done.

      • BlackBriar says:

Killing a noble’s son and disgracing his army… No doubt that’s going to stir the hornet’s nest. But by commandeering his homeland, Eleonora pretty much got Tigre by attachment. Everything of value, including his lineage is there so it’s not hard to say he’s already her property.

By the way, I forgot to say this: Welcome to the top 20!!! You’ve finally made it!!!

  11. BlackBriar says:

Grisaia no Kajitsu: Wow, I’m impressed. They showed a girl actually masturbating and it’s not even a hentai anime. Japan is growing bolder. A lot of subsequent sexual innuendo as well.

  12. Kyokai says:

    Min called and here I am and I sure am enjoying Grisaia more than I should. All the pantsu shots aside, ughh, Yuuji seems to be a dreamboat not to be ridden. >>;
