Meganebu! – 10

This is how she got rid of the rest of the female characters

One more exam to go for me~. …Though I don’t look forward to the hand cramps I’ll be getting from it, since it’s one of those “write 3 essays in 2 hours” type of final. OTL

…I don’t even know where to start with this episode. They seemed to have ripped off Jumanji, Harry Potter, (what was most likely) Men in Black and any given horror movie with a chainsaw-killer present in less than half the episode. …Or at least I think that’s Jumanji. I can’t remember much of that movie aside from the fact that it was about a cursed board game and they all decided to leave it unattended at the end of the movie for some other poor soul to pick up. Anyways, there’s not much to say about all of that besides “wow they’re dedicated to their glasses” and “who the hell comes up with this stuff”. Really, looking at this anime, they’ve been random from the beginning and given us a ton of weird happenings. This might be the weirdest, but the ghost of those glasses from episode 2 gives this episode some competition.

Actually, something about this series makes the occasional supernatural/nonsensical plot okay. One episode they can all be reminiscing about the difficulties of wearing glasses in the rain and the next, they’ll be dealing with the ghost of sunglasses’ past. …And somehow in the long run, it all makes sense. It’s one of the nice factors of having a storyline full of ridiculousness that doesn’t take itself seriously, I guess. If the story makes no sense in the first place, why not run with it.

I could barely even remember the second part of the episode and I just watched it like, 10 minutes before writing this post. I guess parodying movie franchises is just more memorable than a touching story about teachers risking their jobs for their students. I guess this means that there are (surprisingly) other schools out there than the one that this whole story has been taking place in. I didn’t think that the town was that big, but apparently it requires more than one engineering school. …Who knows where all of the female students go, but there are maybe all of 5 that exist on this anime’s universe (which is probably being extremely generous, since we’ve only ever seen the lunch lady), so that’s probably not that big of a deal.

ANYWAYS, I still haven’t really said much about the whole teacher story. …Since there’s nothing much to say. It’s interesting how they’re developing the side characters a bit more. (Is Tetsu’s life full of nothing but heartwarming stories?) I didn’t feel that the teacher characters really needed developing since we rarely see them, but I guess it rounds out the cast a bit more.

Well that was interesting. This show can switch genres pretty fast without it seeming out of place. But that’s probably because it generally has the attention span of a toddler. This was one of those episodes where I kind of wish that the Meganebu could get some permanent development. They’ve had small developments before with things like Hayato having that one inspiring speech, but nothing seems to last more than 5 minutes. Maybe if there was something more, it would feel like this show was actually going somewhere. Though that’s probably a really high expectation. Plus this show does well enough at being entertaining with the formula it has. …It’s just kind of hard to talk about in posts with the show like it is. The real entertainment comes from watching the weirdness go on as opposed to discussing it.

Yes, just embrace the weirdness.

AHAHAHAHAHA Tet-chan is back….. and various factors caused me to behind schedule for any show not named Vlalvrave or Strike the Blood.

I have long embraced the show, Kara. The first half do sound like the type of craziness tht I liked.

This is totally those SOL anime just with more craziness and megane fetish but with a dash of bishie instead isn’t it?

Vampires and Magius (Space Vampires) are probably the cause. I bet you following Diabolik Lovers on a more regular basis than the other series this season. 😀

Sorry to dissapoint you, but DiaLovers is at the near bottom of my interest list. I do wonder how the anime ended though.

Nah, I’m not disappointed because it’s low on my list as well compared to Strike the Blood. And I’m going to leave it to Karakuri to explain how it ended.

Here’s my guess: Horrible ‘people’ did horrible things. 🙂

Actually, it was kind of heartwarming in a “holy crap, this had no development at all, why are you suddenly getting along?!” way.

    • Karakuri says:

Yeah, I kind of fell behind on my watch list too a couple weeks ago. Though now that I’m off school, I’m slowly catching up.

You should catch up~. The first half was kind of funny.
