Misaka has ten great reasons you should watch Railgun!

Welcome back to another week of Railgun S here on Metanorn and sadly we are counting down the days till we wrap up this series, but until then we can enjoy more Febri hanging with Misaka and friends.

Misaka versus giant robots ftw!

The plot is moving…

Last week left us with a lot of questions related to Febri’s origins because she was not listed under any missing child reports and she had no idea about her parents, thankfully we did learn that Febri is not human because she was basically created in a lab somewhere in Academy City, but of course the crazy world of Index and Railgun is filled with lots of non-human characters like Hyouka. I just want to know what kind of power Febri has locked away inside her or does she even have powers at all? I think she has some EMP abilities because that whole scene with Misaka fighting the robot? I think Febri had a hand in stopping the rampaging robot, but I think Misaka would be able to detect something like an EMP ability right? Also does anyone else think that her lollipops are keeping her alive? Then again I think that is probably obvious to all of us watching. Before I wrap up did you notice something inside the purple case that the evil science team left inside the mecha suit? Could that be a strand of Febri’s hair? If it really is then that brings up more questions! Like what is the deal with her hair? Does it have the ability to cause electronics to go crazy? Hopefully we find out next week.

Extra Railgun fun

Febri is the best~

End thoughts

Lately these episodes have been hardcore slice of life with some story progression thrown in with Febri’s backstory slowly being revealed to us like the reveal that she is not human!? I had a sneaky suspension that she wasn’t human but what does that mean exactly? Is she a clone like the MISAKA sisters or a robot? I suppose if she was a robot I think Misaka would be able to figure that out with her powers! While that part of the episode was interesting I always enjoy seeing the other railgun characters pop up and show off like Mitsuko who arrived just in time to save the day with her awesome ability to launch projectiles with wind! So what did you like this week?

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! is it strange of me to wonder how they’d manage to move those robots?

    • sonicsenryaku says:

AIM perhaps? if its not electronic perhaps that has something to do with it

      • skylion says:

Well, as Fosh questions…is it EMP of some sort? I mean, why would they make a series of tests to watch Railgun beat up robots and stuff. Seems kinda boring. But testing her to see if she can detect a shielded form of EMP or something similar? With Meltdowner also in the tests, and with those two having functionally similar powers….

        • Foshizzel says:

Yep! I wonder if they are just trying to see if Misaka’s shield around herself is breakable? If Febri can get close they could use her as a way to create an opening? Just like we saw with Misaki and just like you said Skylion Meltdowner’s powers are similar to Misaka.

    • HannoX says:

I figured hydraulics. Ample shielding around the motor that runs the pump that pressurizes the system and you should be able to stymie Misaka’s power. But I suppose it’ll turn out to be something more esoteric.

    • Foshizzel says:

I just assumed AI controlled or something like that? Since this is anime ANYTHING is possible xD

  2. skylion says:

Man-made? Notice, they didn’t say “clone”, as I suspected, rather off-handed, earlier. A bespoke person built from a select choice of genetic material, just like a tailor making a suit.

    …addicted to lollipops…

Yeah, scary place. Shinobu, what are you up to?

And, c’mon. Evidence found? That strand of hair? What is STUDY up to? Red herring? Trap?

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeppers! They did not say clone so this might be something closer to Hyouka of Index? I know she isn’t really a clone, but a creation…

I think there is some kind of drug in those lollipops keeping Febri “alive” which reminds me of what the frog doc said with the MISAKA sisters dna being unstable? I imagine the drug in the lollipops is keeping her stable for now.

Shinobu is in deep! I waiting for the moment when she betrays her new team of scientists xD

I should research STUDY I have no idea what they do! I assume it has to do with experiments right? I only read the index/railgun manga and like a tiny bit of the light novel >.>

      • BlackBriar says:

Yeppers! They did not say clone so this might be something closer to Hyouka of Index?

I can’t fully agree with that. The doctor said Febri is a hundred percent scientifically created artificial construction. Hyouka was the literal, physical result of the culmination of everyone’s AIM in Academy City. So whereas Hyouka was born from a scientific phenomenon on the outside, Febri was completely bred in someone’s lab for experiments.

      • skylion says:

I don’t they have much information around. The Toaru Wikia just lists members and barely any goals…

  3. BlackBriar says:

I had a feeling Febri would similar to Last Order but where she is an incomplete clone born from Misaka’s DNA, Febri’s completely artificial. From her appearance when she was first introduced, I never considered her to be human at all, not when you consider all what goes on in Academy City. She may be a personal creation of Shinobu’s. After all, she created the Testament program that gives a personality to an artificial being and Febri knew Misaka before the group set their sights on her.

The part where Misaka couldn’t stop the machine with her electricity made me think that it’s mostly plastic rather than all metal. As for they were able to move without a battery, it might have one but not one anybody would expect. Like with the security robots, that purple glass holding a strand of hair must be the source and given that it’s blonde, it has to be Febri’s that was removed. My guess is that each strand is loaded with a certain amount of bio-electricity and when it dissipates, the machine will stop functioning right there. It’s plausible because hair is part of the body and the body can generate bio-electricity, hence the possible EMP abilities.

    • Foshizzel says:

Yeah Academy city has a habit of creating things like super computers, mecha suits, clones and now people! I kind of hope Febri is NOT a clone because that is a cool story idea but I feel it has been done over and over and over again >.< Right that purple case thing definitely has Febri's hair inside, but as for the purpose of that I have no idea other than her DNA powers up devices/machines? Yeah I still think she is a walking EMP! Like whenever Febri is in danger her power activates? I could see that as a possibly.

  4. d-LaN says:

Do they even sell those Gekota stuff? Would totally get at least one of ’em >_>

    Even though a lot of ppl says the new arc is boring, I find myself still entertained and laughing. Also I don’t get the complain tht Kongou is OOC in this episode :/ Must sucks for Shinobu to work for third rate evil scientists ^_^;

Btw, there an ongoing poll for Toaru character and the winning character gets an illustrated message and “project”. Instruction below.

    • Foshizzel says:

      I would think so! I wouldn’t mind one <3

Yeah I can see why some would become bored with this because it is slowwww and we only have four episodes left T___T

Interesting! I would vote for Saten and Febri~

      • d-LaN says:

Sorry, but it seems like Febri is not available. And you can vote it daily.

And lol, the poll being dominated by troll votes.

        #1 Hino Jinsaku
        #2 is Roman Pope

Glad tht Misaka made it to #3 😀
