About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

I liked this episode, especially Tohka and her new found love of baking cookies (Dat princess). And Tobiichi’s magical tea, I won’t sample that anytime soon.

Another element I liked was how Tohka is learning to accept other girls coming into contact with Shidou, and that sometimes she just needs to step back. And Yoshino, so cute. And her puppet Yoshinon, loves to shoot its mouth off, and to provoke people, I wouldn’t take crap from that rabbit.

Tohka for the win and yeah she is finally starting to get used to living in the world of the humans <3

“Getting used to” feels like term for a foreigner too used to their own way. But with her memories gone, Tohka is more like a blank slate than a foreigner. She’s in the same stage as that recently created Misaka sister in Railgun S.

The pacing is just too fast and convoluted. They managed to cram volume 2 in 2 episodes. I’d better accept this already I guess since the PV already confirmed it to cover 4 volumes. I kinda wanted to see Shido getting ripped to shreds when he went inside Yoshino’s barrier.
This’ll probably be improved on in the Blu-ray DCs, though I doubt I’ll remember to rewatch this when it comes out. Oh well.

So, filler next episode. And here I thought they’re pressed for time in covering the source material. They managed to even insert an onsen episode *facepalm*
I want volume 3 already. Been waiting for Kurumi to be animated. Though Tohka is still the best girl even if most LN readers say she(Kurumi) is. YMMV I guess.

    • Highway says:

From the perspective of someone just watching it cold, it doesn’t really seem that fast for this genre of show. I’m sure there are more descriptive things they could spend time on, but I don’t think the show’s suffering too much from missing them.

      • belatkuro says:

Just ramblings of someone who’s read the source material. It’s kind of a curse really for those who read the source of any manga/LN/VN and watch the adaptations.
I would agree though that I might find it normally paced if I haven’t read it yet but alas I can’t turn back now. And it’s not like the missing details/better pacing would make this show any better I guess.
        So yeah.

        • Highway says:

This is why my policy is to watch visual media first, then read any source material later, if I read anything. Printed stuff is always going to have more detail, more information that you notice, because everything that’s written down is something you read. Contrast to the visual medium, where even if they get all the details in, you’re not going to notice them unless the camera shows them to you. Or you’re not going to hear the inner monologue of the character unless they make a specific point of having them narrate it.

The bandwidth is better for audio-visual media, but the amount we can process falls short of the transmission. Reading has lower bandwidth, and is below the threshold of what we can process most of the time.

Beware the Freezing LOLi. That is all I can say. Well..

Someone better get her some anti melting clothes magic.

You made me feel a bit down here. I need a hug. Luckily I have this bunny puppet….

    • Foshizzel says:

D’awwww don’t worry Skylion you can have the loli bunny xD

      • BlackBriar says:

As long as it’s a bunny! You know how things get when they’re not! 🙂

  4. Liza says:

Yoshino is so adorable and I love her angel. Giant bunny of doom!

And it looks like we are getting a small break before getting to Kurumi. Seriously cannot wait for her and her craziness(since she appears to be crazy in the OP).

    • BlackBriar says:

      Giant bunny of doom!

Heh, you’re impressed with that bunny? You should have seen the human blending versions in Blood-C. They brought new meaning to the word “massacre”.

      • Liza says:

I remember those bunnies from Blood-C! I think Yoshino’s bunny is a lot more cuddle-able than those crazy bunnies, that’s for sure.

  5. BlackBriar says:

The pacing felt too fast despite much of the development from last time. Origami may be good at baking from the last episode with her cookies but her skills to make drinks leaves very much to be desired. Her wanting Shidou to call her by first name to be on equal terms, she’s still jealous. It’s a safe bet she might become yandere if more Spirit girls continue to show.

Tohka’s getting a crash course of what it means to live like a human. Uncertainty and jealousy comes with the territory when you’re getting attached to someone. The good thing is that though she throws a trantrum now and again, she isn’t threatening Shidou to stop meeting other girls.

For every harem, there must be a member who’s adorable and moe. Yoshino was so cute that it rubbed me the wrong way seeing the AST surrounding her like a bunch of bullies yet I couldn’t ignore the fact she was freezing the place over. When it comes to characters like this, you see a lonely little girl and not some heartless monster and infuriatingly, only the lead can see that and he’s forced to have a hard time convincing others.

  6. Highway says:

Boy, after a pretty meh start, this has really turned into a show I like. Of course, there’s still time to ruin it, but Shidou seems like a not bad harem lead, there’s actually reasons for the girls to like him (I mean, he’s actively trying to make lonely girls fall for him, after all), they’re handling the feelings of Touka in what feels like an authentic manner, hopefully they’ll do the same with Yoshino. They’ve also really turned down the corny eroge aspects of it, and Shidou’s doing fine on his own.

And it’s got some good laughs. Touka turning on her heel and storming back out after bursting in to apologize to Shidou, but finding his lips inches away from Yoshino was a perfect reaction. And that he got there not through some Yuuki Rito-esque pratfall but because he was trying to seal her powers of his own volition was a nice touch. That he gets into those situations because he actually IS two-timing Touka (and soon three-timing Yoshino and Touka) when they don’t really understand what is going on is a great twist.

We have two kaiju who can shoot ice beam in this season. Coincidence?
