1. Who is your favorite male anime character?
Man, I’m seriously stuck between 5 or 6 different characters for this one. If I really had to choose I think it would pick Kuranosuke from Kuragehime. I just have mad respect for this dude. He cross dresses, first of all, which is just hilariously awesome – takes a lot of guts for somebody to do something like that and he does it with STYLE. He’s strong headed and caring and hysterically funny and I instantly fell in love with him.
2. Who is your favorite female anime character?
Definitely Nino from Arakawa Under the Bridge. She’s just so…out there! Which makes sense, considering the fact that she’s from Venus! She’s perfect for Kou and their relationship is so hilariously adorable. Nino’s also a total bamf, seeing as she’s amazing at swimming and goes fishing for food…with her hands. She’s just perfectly quirky and I can’t help but adore her.
3. What is your favorite anime soundtrack?
THIS IS SUCH A HARD QUESTION! There are so many anime soundtracks that I am just straight up in love with. All the Studio Ghibli films have amazing soundtracks, a stand out being Howl’s Moving Castle (I listen to that OST while studying). Fullmetal Alchemist Brohood had an awesome soundtrack as well. And [C]. And Another (omgroflcakes this soundtrack gives me massive goosebumps). And Kamisama no Memochou. OH MY GOD, AND ANO HANA! See…this is an impossible question for me…
4. What is your favorite anime opening + animation?
Definitely the opening of Ano Hana.

5. What is your favorite anime ending + animation?
I believe it was the second ED sequence for Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

6. What is your favorite anime scene?
I have a lot of scenes that I really appreciate. I could give you an amazingly bittersweet scene from Ano Hana or an awesomesauce action moment from Naruto or something but instead I’ll just settle for this beautiful gem from Arakawa Under the Bridge. I don’t think I have to explain why this is my favorite scene ever in all of anime.
7. If you could meet an anime character who would it be?
I would meet Sasuke just so I could slap his bitchass.
8. What anime character is most similar to you in terms of personality?
I’m a weird mix of Winry from FMA, Tsukimi from Kuragehime, Maria from Arakawa Under the Bridge and Kurisu from Steins;Gate. Wrap your brains around that one, yo.
9. What is your favorite thing about anime?
Oh man, where do I begin!? I definitely love the fact that there’s so much variety. There are so many genres and styles in anime, catering to the preferences of individuals across a wide spectrum of backgrounds and age groups. It’s quite nice that, in one sitting, I can watch a freaky show like Another and then switch to the hilarious glory that is Nichibros. Good stuff! I’m also a fan of the art style, though I am a bit of a snob about it – I won’t watch a show if it has bad art…
10. What is your least favorite thing about anime?
The stigma surrounding it. Most people who don’t know much, if anything, about anime assume it’s for the “weird” kids who are shut-ins (i.e., otakus), which is totally false. That’s not to say that there’s anything wrong with being an otaku, but anime can be considered pretty uncool by a lot of people. It’s always funny to watch people react when I tell them that I watch anime, hehehe. I break down stereotypes like a boss.
11. Who’s your favorite anime couple?
Who the hell came up with this questionnaire?! These questions are so difficult! If I HAD to pick my favorite anime couple, I’d probably go with…Ryuuji and Taiga of Toradora. So cute.
12. Who is your favorite anime animal?
Number 2 from Mawaru Penguindrum.
13. What anime would make a good game?
Um…I don’t…know…Another. That would be pretty awesome. And scary.
14. What game would make a good anime?
MARIO.
15. What was the first anime you ever watched?
I watched DBZ (and didn’t like it at ALL) and Pokemon as a kid. My first legit anime where I actually followed it and understood what was going on was Naruto.
16. Do you think you’ll ever stop watching anime?
I have no clue. I want to be a doctor so I doubt that I’ll have time for it in medical school, but I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
17. What is your favorite genre of anime?
I don’t have a favorite genre. I have genres I prefer over others though, such as slice of life, mystery, psychological thrillers and action. I like romance too, hehehe.
18. What is your least favorite genre of anime?
Ecchi. Not a fan. Not a fan at all. And I don’t like super moe stuff either. Blargh.
19. Are you open about watching anime with people you know?
Yep! Not so much with my parents because they think I’m going to fail school because of it (BUT I’M NOT), but my friends all know. I don’t have a reason to hide it. Plus imagine how hard it would be to keep it from people. I’d click out of the window when people come into my room and they’d think I’m watching porn or something! (…It’s happened before…)
20. Have you ever been to Japan?
Unfortunately, no. I would like to, though!
21. What anime was the biggest letdown for you?
No 6. I thought it would be a lot more…exciting. It was just too angsty and there was just this buttload of sexual tension that I did not want to deal with. The plot got kind of half-assed towards the end too. I was just kind of like…what. Deadman Wonderland was also a massive bust.
22. What anime was better than expected?
Hmmm, I’m going to have to go with Steins;Gate. I knew it would be good but I didn’t know that it would be THAT good. It was seriously KICK ASS.
23. What is the best anime fight scene?
Honestly, there’s been too many for me to really remember. The only one I can really think of off the top of my head is Naruto’s fight against Pein. It was BOSS. I was always on the edge of my seat with Eyeshield 21 too.
24. Who is your anime waifu?
My anime waifu is Maria from Baccano! My anime husbando is Shizuo from Durarara!!
25. What was your favorite video game as a child?
Super Smash Bros and Mario Party. I love Mario. ^_^
26. Most embarrassing moment?
My embarrassing moments tend to have something to do with my dad. Like the time where I was backing out of the garage in his beautiful black Honda Accord and I hit the garage door before it went up all the way. I broke off the entire bottom bit of the garage door and scratched up his car. It sucked.
27. Can you drive?
Yep! Once I’m out of the garage.
28. Are you mature?
I like to think so. My father begs to differ.
29. What year were you born?
1993! I’m turning 19 in October.
30. Do you prefer dogs or cats?
I prefer bunnies.
31. Describe yourself physically.
I am 5’6” with a bit of an athletic build (I HAVE TWO-PACK ABS *is proud*). I have long, brown hair with blonde/copper streaks that goes down to the middle of my back. It’s usually pretty wavy. I have brown eyes and some light freckles.
32. What would you name your first child?
Hopefully I’ll have a son first and I’ll name him Naji.
33. What is the worst injury you’ve ever had?
Does surgery count? I had benign tumors in my boobs. I got those removed this past summer. Have awesome scars now. Look like a badass…on my boobs.
34. What is your worst habit?
P to the R to the O to the CRASTINATION!
35. Do you drink or smoke?
Ew. No.
36. Do you have a tattoo?
Would you stick a bumper sticker on a Ferrari? Nope. So I don’t have tattoos.
37. Are you a morning or a night person?
I am SUCH a night person. I seriously cannot wake up in the mornings. It takes me forever.
38. Have you ever slept past midday?
Hell yah I have! I sleep like a rock, dude.
39. Do you regret anything?
Oh god, I regret so much. But I like to think of them as life lessons – I wouldn’t be the person I am right now if I hadn’t gone through those experiences. Even if I was an idiot.
40. Can you count the number of friends that you have on one hand?
Nope! Not at ALL. Close friends, yes, I do believe.
41. Do you wear glasses?
Why yes, yes I do. But I wear contacts most of the time, now. It’s easier.

Not particularly. I have foods that I don’t like (e.g., OKRA. EW.) but I’m pretty indiscriminate otherwise.

Yes. My loved ones.
44. If could have any superpower, what would it be?
Super memory where I never forget ANYTHING. You know how much less studying I’d have to do?! Teleporting is a close second.
45. Do you believe in the supernatural?
I don’t really know. I feel like subconsciously I do, but I don’t really pay it much regard, honestly. I’m too empirical. I AM A SCIENTIST (sort of. I wish).

Toradora was sweet, but it lacked the oomph I was expecting from the hyped-up review I read on another site.
Seems like everyone here has encountered some form of stereotyping against otakus. I haven’t been targeted directly, but I do occasionally see some disparaging remarks labeling all anime as hentai and by extension, otakus as perverts. Wonder how it all started though…Guess all we can do is bust those stereotypes down, I guess.
If you’re an otaku living outside Japan, piracy is a necessary evil. I do support the creators by buying some original stuff from time to time though. But, I’m not rich, unfortunately…

High-five for No. 6 letdown. Took a perfectly good dystopian plot and flushed it down the drain in favor of… I don’t even know. Over half a year later and it still grates on me.
