Summer Anime Catalogue 2011
Holy crap that took me forever! Yes, even more than the Spring Review because just look at this humungousness! With all the other projects going on in Metanorn and not to mention E3, we sure took our sweet time with this one, not only with design but quality of content as well. Yep, Metanorn is where you get quality and quantity both. Including the titles in skip list, around 80+ anime are releasing during Summers; out of which 32 are main TV series, 29 OVAs/Specials and 19 movies. We haven’t really followed any specific chart rather combed through ANN, MAL, AdniDB and Moonphase to get a comprehensive list of titles releasing in Summer 2011. Big thanks goes to Ness for helping me for the post design with her awesome graphics! Of course, Overcooled, Fosh and Jrow too for helping out since the collaboration for all titles till the end product format. WP sure threw its fits but we managed. A quick round up of major studios for your eyes only:
- We don’t have any production whoring like JC did for last Fall. Rather we have one title coming form almost all active studios.
- Production I.G is at the fore with 3 main series (Appleseed, Blood-C, Usagi Drop) and the Sengoku Basara movie.
- Brains Base is up with Kamisama Dolls and Omori’s favourite franchise Natsume Yuujinchou’s third season.
- J.C. Staff has two main titles (Kaito Tenshi Twin Angel, Kamisama no Memo-chou), while a Milky Holmes special.
- A-1 Pictures are releasing IDOLM@STER and Uta no Prince-sama with the Ao no Exorcist special.
- BONES is releasing No.6, multiple movies on Quon and the much awaited FMA movie.
- Studio DEEN is releasing the second installment of Nura Mago and three OVAs (Hakuouki, Kore wa Zombie, Higurashi).
- Gonzo will have another take at Last Exile and Copihan OVA.
- No major SHAFT production; only Mahou Sensei Negima and Maria Holice extra episode.
- One title fiddle: Madhouse with blade, Gainax with Dantalian no Shoka, Sacred Seven by Sunrise and R-15 by AIC.

MALES
- It was Tomokazu Sugita last season for an increase in voice roles but the star of Summers is actually Nobuhiko Okamoto, who has been rising up steadily with diversified roles. He will appearing in Sacred Seven, Nura Mago, Kamisama Dolls, Maria Holic OVA and Ao no Exorcist special.
- Jun Fukuyama is getting around as well by voice acting main roles in Nura Mago, Last Exile, Itsuka Tenma, Prince of Tennis OVA, Ao no Exorcist Special and Heart no Kuni movie.
- My two favourites are lazy-boying around the summers, with Hiroshi Kamiya reprising one of my favourite characters Natsume for a third season, voicing the main role in Quon movies and keeping at Mephisto in Ao no Exorcist. Ono Daisuke on the other hand will be voicing main roles in Dantalian, Kamisama no Memo-chou and VitaminX OVA.
- Akira Ishida to appear in Natsume S3, Nura Mago, Saiyuki Gaiden and Heart no kuni movie.
- Yuuki Kaji to continue with his rows of supporting roles in Uta no Prince, No.6, Ro-Kyu-Bu!, Baby Princess OVA and Ao no Exorcist special.
- Hiro Shimono to appear in Nura Mago, Uta no Prince-sama, Baka to Test and Milky Holmes Special.
- Yuuichi Nakamura is going steady with roles in Last Exile, Itsuka Tenma and Uta no Prince-sama series.
- Junichi Suwabe to voice in Uta no Prince, Natsume Yuujinchou and Carnival Phantasm.
- Jouji Nakata will be keeping busy with Nura Mago, Hellsing Ultimate (HHHNG), Carnival Phantasm (double HHNNGGG) and Towa no Quon movie.
- Miyu Irino will be keeping steady with Sacred Seven, Nura Mago and Towa no Quon movie.
- Tomokazu Sugita to continue with his Gintoki role with OVA appearances in VitaminX, Maria Holic, Beelzebub and Heart no Kuni movie.Two roles fiddle:

FEMALES
- Miyuki Sawashiro seems to be back in the game after a lull period in Spring. She will be voice acting in Last Exile, Kamisama Dolls, Dantalian no Shoka series, while Maria Holic, Milky Holmes and Beelzebub (Ba-buuu!) Specials.
- My most favourite seiyuu of all time, Maaya Sakamoto actually has some roles this season (she’s known for taking less work) with Appleseed, Blade, Hellsing and FMA movie.
- Kana Hanazawa finally is taking some break. Damn girl, you deserve it! Rather than voicing almost every other title in Spring, she would be only appearing in Morita-san, Ro-Kyu-Bu! Series, while Baby Princess OVA and Ao no Exorcist special.
- Ai Kayano is climbing up the seiyuu stairs with some noticeable roles in Last Exile, Kamisama Dolls, Nekogami Yaoyorozu and Kamisama no Memo-chou.
- Noto Mamiko is at least busier than Spring and would be appearing in Manyuu Hikenchou, Kaito Tenshi Twin Angel series, while Sengoku Basara and Mahou Sensei Negima movies.
- Rie Kugimiya will be keeping busy with Kaito Tenshi, IDOLM@STER series, Lotte’s toy ova and FMA, Heart no Kuni, Hayate movies.
- Aoi Yuki will be voicing in Last Exile, Ikoku Meiro no Croisée, Baby Princess OVA and Beelzebub Special.
- Eri Kitamura will only voice in Last Exile, Mayo Chiki series, while Ao no Exorcist and Onii-chan specials.
- Haruka Tomatsu to voice act in Nekogami, Morita-san, Baby Princess and Beelzebub Special.
- Yui Horie will be appearing in Nekogami, Kaito Tenshi, Lotte’s Toy OVA and Mahou Sensei Negima movie.
- Hikasa Yoko will keep up with Ro-Kyu-Bu! Kore wa Zombie and Sora no Otoshimono move.
- Chiaki Omigawa to voice in Maria Holic OVA, Quon and Mahou Sensei Negima movies.

Summer seems to be a bit dull, it seems like it’s gonna be a repeat of winter. I hope that other than the noitamina shows, there will be some hidden gems like Madoka and Level E were in winter.
Still, there are a lot that has potential, I hope they pull it though. I think I’ll be fine though since Ao no Exorcist, Tiger and Bunny and Hanairo will still be running in summer XD

Well a few shows carry over like Exorcist, Tiger and bunny, Nichijou, Hana Iroha, and I think that’s it from spring season I saw those shows got bumped to the 25-26 episode range.
Which makes me happy! Not so much for Hana Iroha but the others really need to be 25+ Not sure about Nichijou hopefully it doesn’t crash and burn.

Yes! Nana Mizuki! I really love the new design CLAMP has going for Saya. It makes her less… I don’t know, useless? My problem with Blood+ was that it took Saya like, 20 episodes to actually do anything instead of standing there saying that she doesn’t want to fight.
Ahaha same here with the P3P. I keep trying to do Ken’s route but I always cancel last minute going “nooooo I’m not a shotacon!”

You need to watch Natsume, like now. It it that good after all. And HELLS YES FOR CARNIVAL PHANTASM & FMA!!! We can only wish for Mana but when Shiki’s not there, how can there be Mana. ;3; Still, at least we are getting ol’ Saber, Lancer and Archer. Bonus for me is Sakamoto Maaya in FMA, she voiced Shiki after all~

Right off the bat – FMA movie made me squeal like crazy!!! I know about it since the end of winter season, and my nerves are ready to self-destruct. TT^TT Too bad we won’t see it very soon………. Also, I’m really interested in another Ghibli movie. >.> Though I agree with OC – a comedy from Ghibli is something ……. intriguing ^^;
From the series, I’m sure I will check out Blood-C, just because I love mystery, Gothic style, Production IG and Yoshikazu Iwanami. Sacred Seven, because of Kajiura Yuki and Ohashi Yoshimitsu. I wanted to check out another Sunrise mecha, so I think I will give this a try. Next – Kamisama Dolls. God, when I first saw that cover, I thought it would be some dirty, cliche ecchi show but…. I was positively pleased by the trailer. I didn’t like the art, but I’m checking it out. Natsume Yuujinchou San seems interesting, but I haven’t seen the first 2 seasons, so maybe some other time. Dantalian no Shoka seems like Gosick-to-be show. I absolutely HATED gosick, but I think I will check out this one too. + Daisuke Ono. *fangasm* Usagi Drop – Kyokai-san, yoroshiku ne~ ^^ I am SO IN for that mushy, cheezy show!! I love anime that make your chest feel warmer <3 Then, NO.6. Idk, I just like it.

I had some issues.. School work, + my computer is lagging a lot. It’s turning off every now and then so I can’t watch anime a lot.
