Nichijou – 07

Final Fantasy Nichijou

Fosh: Time for some random fun with Nichijou! Nearing the end for this series makes me a little sad, but I shall enjoy the rest. Other news, congratulations to Metanorn for hitting three years, good job to everyone! And now let’s dive right into the review of episode seven.

Ness: Stars are falling from the sky on Metanorn! But it doesn’t lessen that amount of work at is heading my way for this week. I will probably be MIA this week due to school crap but that’s life for you xD Anyway, another week of fun Nichijou! Exciting in some ways…

Fosh: Stories this week involve Mio’s sister meeting Nano and messing around with her key and taking her arm. And an odd back story with Mio’s wooden cube hair clips!

Dolph- “Alright, Mr. Burger King! Tell me the family recipe or else…!”

Elf princes! She hates when you stare at her cute ears.

Dolph died! Then henchmen rejoice!

Wooden cubes- “YES KILL EVERYONE ON THE SHIP!”       Guy-“Yes…master…”

Mio now has awesome wooden cube powers!

Yes, you are still watching Nichijou; this whole beginning part was like watching a totally different anime, really fun even if the story makes no since whatsoever. But for laughs, the wooden cubes Mio wears are really weapons? However, I think this was just for laughs nothing serious, but damn that was so much fun.

Even other teachers can’t avoid moe teacher

Now we return to the normal world to follow Mio, Yuuko and Mai doing a few random things together, like catching the train and eating sushi together, giving us some epic expressions of failure. Seems they are throwing anything and everything at us this week with lots of short clips.

Even Mai can’t help but laugh at Yuuko’s failure.

Quick Yuuko, rip the doors down!

Yuuko- “Dude, we are like the same person!”          Mio- “Whoa, that is so awesome, bro!”

After that bit of fun with Yuuko and Mio, we follow Nano meeting a new friend, who happens to be Mio’s sister Yoshino. However, Nano doesn’t really like random strangers grabbing a hold of her windup key on her back, unless that’s just how you say hello to robots? And we get to watch Hakase, Sakamoto and Nano play some baseball together.

Nano- “Ah! Please be gentle, it’s my first time!”                Yoshino-“I must touch you!”

Yoshino-“Whoops it came off…”                         Nano-“Wait a second! What’s that ticking sound…”

You have activated flower rainbow mode!

Playing baseball with robots, definitely not safe for your health.

Good thing Hakase is so short! That would have killed her.

Mio- “Mr. Monopoly is real?! WHAT THE HELL, MAN!”

After that fun baseball scene with Nano and the others, the episode wraps up with Mio seeing the girl her sister was talking about. I can’t wait to see Mio and the others run into Sakamoto, Hakase and Nano! I don’t think I would be prepared for that… well maybe.

Extra laughs

Best side character ever! Really reminds me of Baccano!

ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER, NANO!

Sakamoto- “OH FUUUUUUUUUUU– Nano has a rocket pitch!”

Yuuko- “Why is my birthday present ticking? Huh, Mio? Why are you running….”

End Thoughts:

Fosh: Amazing episode this week! Well, the first section was really random and crazy but I really enjoyed that. Felt like a whole new show just appeared out of nowhere for us. If they did animate this story into a series I would so watch that. I don’t really expect much from the elf story, aside from being just a comical side story. I was waiting to get trolled by either Mia or Yuuko like them reading a manga or telling a story.

Also enjoyed Nano meeting Mio’s sister, even though she was picking on Nano, it was still funny to watch her panic for a bit. It was really funny to watch Nano react when the key was removed from her back and then ending up stuck there spacing out. Poor Nano! She just wants to be normal; well, I don’t think you can ever be truly normal in this series after all we have talking animals.

Watching Nano play baseball was nice even though she has no idea how to even play, Hakase was just having fun. I do always forget both of them are kids! Well, I forget Nano is technically only eight like Hakase. Anyway it was funny watching Nano barely throw the ball and causing some damage, someone needs to sign her up for the professional league quickly!

Ness: WOW opening! I seriously thought that it was either one of Mio’s manga’s being told to us or that Nichijou is actually a fantasy genre anime and people are going to go after Mio’s cube hair ties. But alas, we were awakened with Yuuko who was dreaming this whole thing while in class. Such a good laugh, indeed. The following scenes for the rest of the episode was pretty fast paced. Thus, I have not too much to say so I will just highlight what I liked and some other thoughts.

So, I considering a few episodes that have gone by, we saw one of the girls reading a Helvetica manga. I suppose this manga is the Helvetica short and random scenes that we get which has nothing to do at all with the characters of Nichijou. I think the character that I want to see more scenes of now is the one with the afro, he hasn’t gotten any good time yet and the girl with the big bow on her hair. I do find it amusing that the strict sensei got some spotlight with his forbidden love for the homeroom sensei.

Besides the opening outshining the rest of the episode, I think the only other thing that stood out was Nano and Mai’s sister having a face off. Well, more like Mai’s sister messing with Nano. Who can just walk past a person with a big winding key on her back? The temptation to turn the key would be so hard to resist and especially of such a size. Though, Mai’s sister’s reaction to Nano’s hand falling off just gave me a “. . .” feeling. The sister just went about like it was nothing! No suspicions at all! Comparing Nano and the sister’s height, I guess you can say that Nano would be a high school student. Finally seeing some cross-over between Nano’s world and Mai’s is something. Makes you think that they will finally get the actual story going with Nano maybe getting to go to school? It has been proved that the winding key can come off!!! So until next week, lataz~

Preview:

And you gave these to Mio?! We are doomed!

Yuuko isn’t having a good day.

    • Ness says:

Yeaaah seems like it haha. Though, I’m surprised that they didn’t show more of a celebration or something for her b-day.

    • Foshizzel says:

Oh man Yuuko is getting all kinds of bad treatment this episode hahaha maybe its revenge for episode six? Since she was failing at everything..

      • Eri says:

Yuuko is always getting bad treatment from the show that I almost feel like feeling sorry for her. But the rest of the episodes has shown how selfish she really is so maybe she deserves some payback…

Best opening to an anime EVER.

And omg he actually does look like he wandered out of Baccano! Cover him in blood and I know what character he would remind me of XD

      AGREED! Totally random and fun!

Ah ya the rail tracer hahah yep he just needs the right amount of blood <3

  4. MikADo says:

It reminded me of Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa from Zibri, and it is probably a parody XD still, amazing OP XD

    • Foshizzel says:

Agreed there! That opening was nicely done, if they ever animated another show with this same art style I would be all over it.

I am sure they were doing several parody’s during that whole scene xD

  5. Moni Chan says:

the begining reminded me of zelda and starwars, and a hint of burgerking strangly
