Gintama- 205

Baseball is serious business!

Time for more Gintama! You never really know what to expect with this show, which is why this show is really fun to watch. Just about as random as Nichijou well almost! Anyway I am having lots of fun with this series. Time to review this episode!

Plot this week follows Sagaru as he watches over Sachi Narasaki doing some surveillance on her, while eating nothing but anpan the whole time for thirty days! The second half follows Kondo and his date with Tea to go to a baseball game.

Looks great! But I wouldn’t eat that for thirty days…

He’s not stalking just “watching” her very carefully!

So Sagaru’s reason to keep an eye on Sachi, she happens to be the older sister of a brutal joi terrorist. She also stole some money from a rival terrorist group. So Sagaru watches her for over thirty days just living on anpan and milk! However Sachi knows she’s being watched and tricks him for the whole thirty days.

So this means don’t eat anpan forever! It makes you go insane.

After Sagaru passes out after eating some food Sachi prepared, and Sagaru gets poisoned by her. She then sneaks off with her brother to steal even more money, damn this girl is greedy! However the other Shinsengumi arrest the rival terrorist group that was after her, Sagaru leaves the hospital and catches up to the brother and sister and throws anpan in their faces.

Sagaru had a dream he was being attacked by anpan monsters!

Wonder what he had in that bread? Iron!

The next half of the episode follows Kondo the leader of the Shinsengumi as he asks Tea out on a date! Which she agrees to go out with him, shocking that she actually agreed in the first place. Sadly things don’t go as Kondo wants them to go, as it rains resulting in a chain reaction of events around Kondo. He even gets stabbed by a falling spear, falls into a hole and gets hit by a car! Which I will admit it was so damn funny to me, because he gets up like its normal to him.

Kondo- “She finally said yes!! It only took two hundred episodes!”

Kondo-“Trust me kids this will be the best day of my life!”

Well so much for that huh Kondo? Do you give up!?

Kondo- “I can never give up! Just let me throw up a few gallons of blood first”

After that random bit of Kondo being abused for a few laughs, he finds some kids holding what he thinks are his baseball tickets. He bribes them by playing a game with them; however Kagura was around and plays the role of the pitcher! She knocks Kondo right into a wall; damn Kagura could have gone easy on him.

Ouch that looks rather painful right in the chest.

Those kids sure were rough! After the epic baseball game with Kagura Kondo walks outside to see his tickets he won from the boys were not even his! Hahahah sucks to be him right now. Instead a little girl had them and explains her story about her missing father and her depressed brother, and how baseball was the one thing that connected them. Kondo helps out and reunites the family together by taking more abuse with a baseball.

Kondo activates sad story mode!                                    Who could say no to that face?!

HOLY CRAP old man has a powerful pitch! I think everyone is on the juice in this episode.

The episode slowly comes to an end after Kondo gets a call warning him a meteor is headed to the stadium! Tea is also near the stadium so Kondo rushes over to save her; thankfully the meteor is only the size of a baseball. While it falls Kondo swings as hard as he can! Sadly it flies off the bat and smacks Tea in the face; well you can guess the ending Tea pops him right in the face good job man good job.

Toshiro-“your girlfriend is about to become a pancake”                      Kondo-“NOOOOOOO!!!”

Kondo- “all right you and me meteor let’s to this!”

Baseball you are doing it so wrong!

Totally normal weather today Kondo didn’t worry.

End thoughts

First half wasn’t too bad I did like that they gave a side character like Sagaru his own half, and his strange obsession over eating anpan for a month! Wow good job there it made him go completely insane. However that was so funny watching the weeks and days roll past and how he was “changing” and the head bashing against the wall killed me! Although I didn’t really care about the girl he had to watch as much.

Second half also amazingly funny with Kondo! That guy always gets into these situations that end up almost killing him, which always provides for some great comedy. The spears falling from the sky, falling into the random hole and getting hit by a car so damn hilarious this week! That reminded me of a early episode in the past season when Gintoki and Katsura had to learn how to drive. Which ends up with Katsura getting run over a few times, it happens in episode 72!

Well this was a fun episode for me the comedy is right up there near Nichijou in some spots, not that we will see Nano or someone getting hit by a car anytime soon. I think I generally love the random factor of this show! Never knowing what will happen next, hopefully we get some more scenes with Gintoki! I think they are letting the lesser known characters get some time first. I think we all want to see more of Kagura’s story at least I do, what characters are you all wanting to see get more episodes?

Next week! Looked like we had some new characters entering soon, wonder if any new arc will start soon? Waiting to see the guy from the ending to finally show up and cause some trouble.
