Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka – 04

Flying whales and canine detectives?

Zombie time! You know the drill, expect for some odd ball comedy! So this week I started to draw some Yumekui Merry fan art, hopefully I can get something out soon on that. It probably won’t be anything mind blowing of course, but we shall see! Other than the drawing, not much going on except waiting for another fun weekend to listen to more Karaoke. I tried a bit by myself alone and yeah… it’s pretty hard! You almost need to speak Japanese to get it right. Oh well, practice maybe? Oh man, I kinda killed the Ika Musume theme and not a good killing either. Anyway onto the episode!

In short, this episode starts with Haruna cooking in the kitchen and Sera lending a hand and failing badly. We also get a new visitor, a humanoid demon dog named Kerberos who knows Hellscythe. Some drama happens between Hellscythe and Aikawa and an epic battle between our heroes and a giant whale near the end.

“Cooking is so fun, Cooking is so fun”

Don’t do it! IT’S A TRAP!!

OH SNAP! It’s Scruff Mc Gruff?!

“Guess it’s lights out for our victim”                     YEAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! (Cue CSI theme)

Guess they got the point…

“Ouch! Next time bring a flashlight!”                                               “Oooooh sparkles”

Aikawa and Kerberos rush off to investigate the home of the murder and they get jumped by the killer! I guess his nose was broken?! Fail dog. Kerberos dies in a shower of sparkles and Aikawa returns home to have a serious talk with Hellscythe. While talking to her he quickly learns the reasons why she cannot talk and also why she wears the armor; it is to keep her magical powers in check. If she speaks her magic will go out of control, seems like she has to keep her emotions in check or bad things can happen. After a few tears are shed by Hellscythe, Aikawa assures her that he doesn’t consider a monster and tells her she can live with him forever to cheers her up.

D’awww sad Hellscythe! I loved this scene very nice.

Now what happens next seems strange! But a giant flying whale appears to attack the city. Not sure how it got there but I’m positive it has something to do with Hellscythe’s magic going crazy. So it’s up to Aikawa, Sera and Haruna to save the day! And yes that means you guessed it! Magical boy transformation, GO!! With the help of Sera, they quickly cut the whale’s head off thanks to a power up move by Aikawa. That whole scene was so damn funny! I couldn’t stop laughing for real.

“I want to COOK THAT!”

Yes, Aikawa, that’s a whale with a charged laser beam!

EVADE!!

CHARGE!

I love a good decapitation in the morning… right, Hellscythe??

With the whale demon defeated, all returns to normal or so I thought. Before the end credits roll we visit the hospital again to find something tragic happening to Kyouko! We just see a knife in a limp hand with Kyouko killing herself; we are left with a huge hole wondering if this was her own doing or some outside force possessing her.

This was a huge shock! Some serious drama to be seen in the future.

Extra undead fun!

Tea drinking failure!

Aikawa Supperrrrr Kicccckkk!!

Hellscythe wants a kiss!

Mmmm… toxic soup for lunch! Looks safe…right??

End thoughts:

The episode had a good start up with the same slapstick comedy provided by fail cooking! Which is usually the same in most anime, aka girl who can’t cook makes purple food that is unsafe for everyone; at least they have Haruna who can cook. The arrival of Kerberos was entertaining; I think that was a way to extend the plot and background on Hellscythe herself. Also learning about her healing powers was a nice touch, gives us a better idea of how important Hellscythe considers Aikawa and the lengths she has gone for him.

Also the scene with the two of them chatting wasn’t so bad, doesn’t really fit the overall feel for this show but they make it work somehow! It was good to see her changed image of a complete robot, not like most “quiet” characters. Another fun scene I enjoyed was the battle between the whale and the others, a bit random and comical of course. Then again that’s what I loved about this show from the start.

And finally the ending section with Kyouko killing herself, that was a bit of a shock to me. She seemed like an odd character in the previous episode when she was all clingy to Aikawa. Now I don’t know if she was forced into killing herself or did that on her own! Guess we will have to wait and see, however I think she was pushed by someone else into doing it.

Preview!

Mmmm Miyako Tofu! Reminds me of Mapo Tofu~

Next week I’m not much sure of; sounds like a comedy episode with some harem or café related stuff. Either way expect something fun and random to happen to Aikawa!

Thanks for reading.

About

Is huge anime fan from Florida! who loves to watch anime and also enjoys drawing and collecting pictures, my favorite genre of anime has to be Mecha, there is just something awesome about giant robots beating the crap out of each other! Other than that type of show, I love a good comedy or action series :D

I’m not that impressed, but I like the way the kept together the stupid humor and even some drama. It was awkward and random, but that’s what I like this anime for too! ^,^ Glad that they showed Aikawa’s transformation again! xD Man, I was too embarrassed, just to watch the henshin without closing up my eyes at the moments! LOL I wonder, what will they squeeze in into the next episode?(besides the bad humour… xD)

    • foshizzel says:

Yep I liked the bit of drama thrown in there, and yes they do a great job fitting that into the show so far. Nice to see she has emotion! not a fully quiet girl.

Lol yep! Transformation is always fun to see xDD

the only negative thing I have against this anime is the ayumu being a magical girl, at least let him wear something like what the galactic pretty boy wears.
otherwise its great and good enough to keep watching til the end.

    • foshizzel says:

Hahaha yes I kind of wish his outfit would change from Haruna’s but oh well that might just be for the laugh factor more than anything xD

Things are getting good that is true! Always fun stuff so far.

  3. Elyon says:

I cracked up the minute that dog man showed up at the door xD

    • foshizzel says:

Hahahah yesss that dog demon guy what the hell so crazy but also did not last long.

  4. BlackLagoon187 says:

    lolololol

    • foshizzel says:

      its Suppppperrrrrrr Mahou Shounen powaaaa

I am scared to see the Male cosplayers in that…-shudder-

Hellscythe all sad was sad but it was so ADORABLE!!! She finally showed an emotion and what she kept writing was so sad but still so…. HNNNNNGGGGG~~~!!!! <3 <3 <3

Sera is as always so COOL!!! xDD My cousin actually spoiled the ending for me which was a utter facepalm!!! Dx But I wouldn't believe she'd kill herself cause no way would someone be able to kill themsevles then throw the knife away if it was a sudden death (cause the knife would be left inside the body) She might of been trying to protect herself from the KILLER but was too late OR as Fosh said, possessed which is a good possibility. I'd really like to see Hellscythe show more emotion and I actually thought she was gonna give us a bit of a giggle after seeing Aikawa in the masou shoujou outfit (since he did say something about "if you want to laugh then laugh") which I thought that the producers would actually produce something along those lines but oh wells.

ASH cross dressing as MISTY finds a wild WALMER!!!
ASH sends ZUBAT out to battle
    ZUBAT refuses to obey
    WALMER uses HYPER BEAM!!!!!
and so on and so forth… (I just wanted to add the last line so badly!) x3

    • foshizzel says:

Yep very cute, glad she can at least cry unlike most “quiet” characters who don’t

Sera? I guess she is alright she does make me laugh with her comments to Aikawa always good for a few laughs. Yeah I think something is up with that last scene, I wonder if we have some ghost stuff going on. Oh god Aikawa’s magical girl I wish his outfit changed but ah well its for comical laughs lol.

LOL that would be so scary…and might make you go blind!

    • amado says:

      ah pokemon…
brings back a lot of memories…
maybe I should try to watch it again? I hope im not too far from the current storyline…

      • Tofu says:

The first 2 or 3 series were good of Pokemon, but afterwards… especially this current one now (Best Wishes) it’s just… ugh…

        • amado says:

actually I dropped it somewhere on diamond and pearl because of limited time and also because I couldn’t find the right episode order….
I partly stuck for the shipping. and also for the battles, sometimes they are cool and very tactical.
