Kore wa Zombie desu ka – 06

Magical Kyoko doing stuff with magic!

More zombie fun this week, finally the showdown between Yuu versus Kyoko! Let’s just hope it is as action packed as we all want. On another front, had an IRL meeting with Crusader from THAT anime blog! We went to a local basketball game to see the Orlando Magic go up against the LA Lakers! Well, it was a fun experience for me being a n00b basketball fan. Still, very exciting going to a game rather than watching from home; you do get caught up in the crowd’s excitement rather fast, so a huge thank you to, Crusader! Awesome guy!

This week’s Zombie plot has Yuu getting her magical girl appearance on and letting Kyoko beat up on her, until Aikawa jumps in to finish the job. Dai sensei shows up to take Kyoko home, but a new bad guy takes her away.

Magical Necromancer moe girl!? It’s way too over powering!!

Magical Kyoko loves her fireworks; so pretty.

Headache…too….much….moe….

Buwhahahhahahahahahha.

So the battle between the silent Yuu and the crazy Kyoko begins! I really loved Yuu changing into a magical girl, great stuff. We learn that Yuu is the one attracting demons all along, which happened to effect Haruna’s power as well. Kyoko tries everything in her power to hurt Yuu, even causes her to actually speak! She repeats die over and over with Kyoko getting up repeatedly using up all her stored lives, showing her resilience. Kyoko tries a last move with a big explosion, which knocks Yuu out cold

Very cool visiual and sound effects here! Such a Dbz feel to Kyoko’s attack.

Looks like someone forgot their pants

Go, Team Zombie, kick Kyoko’s magical butt!

Sera wants in on this zombie sandwich.

With Yuu knocked out, the others attempt an all-out attack on Kyoko, but fail after she regenerates her body. Such is the fail of fighting an overpowered twin-tail with magical powers. Aikawa transforms and attacks Kyoko and chops her up a few times, Kyoko enters panic mode after her powers are shut down not wanting to die, Aikawa spares her life. DAMN IT, NO!! Don’t be Naruto/Ichigo! Fail Aikawa!

Aikawa-“What’s this blade made of? Cardboard?!” Kyoko-“Damn, not my cardboard sword!”

At this moment Kyoko forgot her pants too.

Chopping up twin-tailed girls is hard work!

Felt a bit sad for Kyoko here, well only a bit.

After Kyoko passes out, Dai sensei shows up to return Kyoko to her world, who goes all puppet mode as another voice is heard of the true bad guy. Simply called the King of Night, who knows Yuu very well, ‘course all we have to go by is a voice. We do learn later he was the first zombie Yuu ever created and like all baddies he wants revenge! Then again what villain doesn’t want that? Slowly things return to normal in the next few days.

Shouldn’t play with fire there, Aikawa, or piss off a magical girl teachers!

I love this character’s design! Hope she doesn’t turn out evil…

The voices in my head tell me to hug you all to death.

I loved the music during this scene, very good for the mood.

Extra Zombie

Kyoko is also very anti clothes.

Wooot Neko-mode…so cute…

-Yuu-“Who stole my damn pants?!”

Kyoko, you win for best creep face ever.jpeg!

End thoughts:

First half was pretty amazing, not going to lie there! Seeing Yuu transform like that was great, still disappointed she didn’t get a transformation animation. Now if we can just get Sera to do it too, I know Tofu would love that and a lot of other fans of hers too. Kyoko’s true power has yet to be revealed, so we don’t know what she truly is. This works for me, however I have a feeling we will get to learn much more about her soon.

Now Kyoko herself does seem to be pure evil especially with all those evil laughs and expressions, but I still have my issues with that. I think the real Kyoko is dead and the King of Night is using her body for his own personal issues against Yuu. Hopefully, he gets shown off soon! Just so we can have some zombie versus zombie fights.

Near the end we did see some men dressed rather strangely, standing in front of some pig machine. So, the next monster could be a boar or pig character, much like the crab boss in one of the earlier episodes. The ending did leave me feeling all fuzzy inside! Thanks to the great background soundtrack going off. The whole episode had some great instrumental music during fights and happy moments. Who wants this OST? I sure do.

Preview!

Do you want to Duet? HUH? DO YOU?!

Next episode preview doesn’t leave it open to what actually happens, but with my history with shows like these you can expect it to be random comedy. Since we had two back to back episodes on plot progression! It’s a law in anime like this. Filler always happens after epic battles; just watch Bleach and you will understand…

Thanks!

Awesome episode and an epic fight. Yuu looked cute in those necromancer-magical girl clothes. So she was responsible for Haruna losing her powers and those megalos popping all over the place. Yuu’s basically a demon magnet. Kyoko was all kinds of crazy in this fight with her laughs and facial expressions, even deliberately damaging her own body just to beat Yuu. She even went as far as to tear her own ear drums so she couldn’t hear “die” anymore? Well, desperate times calls for desperate measures, I guess.

I can practically see jealousy on Sera’s face for not getting in on the action. LOL. I’m sure she’ll get her chance later on. I’m one of Sera’s fans as well. She’s cool.

Ayumu went into badass mode when he broke Kyoko’s sword with a straight face right before he ravages her with that chainsaw. Note to self: Stay away from Masou Shoujo zombies when they are teaching moral lessons with a chainsaw. It’s hazardous for one’s health. I wonder if Sera and Haruna got shaken up by that little display. Just when Kyoko was at her last life, I began to feel sorry for her. Why do we start to feel sorry for most bad guys when they are about to get a taste of their own medicine? Maybe Kyoko was a puppet to Yuu’s zombie acquaintance the entire time but it still leaves the fourth girl. I’ve noticed these new animes that are coming out have parts that are glourious gore fests. Blood and gore as far as the eye can see. Bring on the next episode.

Yepp Yuu did look great in those magical girl clothes. Right she has been attracting all kinds of badies and sucking up magic. Kyoko is awesome hope we get to see more of her crazy facial expressions. Well similar thing happened in IndexII when she used her scream spell the nuns stabbed their eardrums with ink pens xD

Sera needs to turn into a magical girl too! Can’t wait for that to happen.

I like Aikawa very cool character, not really crazy about his magical girl clothes but its alright. Well she technically isn’t in control it seems near the end of the fight she gets scared, I think she is just a puppet right now.

      • BlackBriar says:

I have to admit. That was pretty gruesome what Ayumu did to Kyoko. He slaughtered her like a pig. Sera and Haruna just stood there and watched. Man, they are dark! Is that a normal thing for them to see?

        • Foshizzel says:

True that! And it was pretty dark with all the red sky and blood. Well maybe they were like…….oh ya let’s leave him alone xD

  2. stickfanatic says:

well, that advanced the story along significantly, so I’m satisfied ^^ I double taked on magical girl Yuu though, at this point I’m half expecting the nearest tree to pop out a transformation sequence ._.

How did Ayumu know that Kyoko was on her last life?

    • Foshizzel says:

Yep great story progression so far especially with this episode! Magical Yuu was great even thou she didn’t do much but stand there. Agreed where was her transformation scene?! we were so robbed!

Not really sure, good question! Lucky guess?

      • Dan-go says:

well he’s been counting victims (at one point in the time scale they mention the number of people killed, and you can actually count from there yourself…only i cant be bothered)/she got super scared when she was on her last

    • Passerby says:

That’s actually really easy. Kyoko herself said she had ten lives left in the last episode. Eu gets six kills with her “Die.” command before Kyoko destroys her ears. The very last two commands don’t count since Kyoko had already torn her ears by then. Add the suicide death to restore her body, the being sliced in two death, and the really long chainsaw death (Yes, that was only one single death.). What does that add up to? Nine lives lost and one life left.

  3. Starry says:

Awesome episode as always. 😀 For a moment I thought that Yuu was finally going to speak during the transformation sequence! But my hopes were dashed when the words came up. T_T

I have a feeling that she’s going to sound really deep or mature just to troll us… >.>

    • Foshizzel says:

Haha well Yuu doesn’t have just one voice actress, she has several in each episode! Well this only happens during Aikawa’s dream sequences with Yuu.

Hahah yes probably troll us, probably has a manly voice.

  4. Tofu says:

Oh Fosh you know already xD I basically squealed when Yuu picked up the chainsaw and I instantly knew what she was gonna do x3 It’s so AWESOME and MOE and KAWAIIII~~~~!!!! <3 Sera was mistreated so badly in this episode, why do you producers always make them so weak, Sera was so strong and now it's like spitting on her image! As a fan boy I CANNOT allow this to HAPPEN!! xD (really? nah I don't mind)

A crazy episode, wish I could rant on more but I'm short on time, bring on the next episode! xD

    • Foshizzel says:

Haha yep I remember you told me about that, still very cool seeing her transform minus the super cool scene. True Sera was pushed back in this episode, well Haruna too she did get thrown by Kyoko.

      Hahaha yep! more episodes =D

  5. Dan-go says:

i lold when yuu turned magical, also…MOAR TENSION, WOOOO, i am loving this (i still wanna go i told you so, cuz you were all so hesitant at the beggining of the season)

  6. Elyon says:

I loved Kyoko’s crazy faces! They reminded me of the faces they make in that one vocaloid pv.
    This one:

I think Aikawa’s Yuu delusions get cuter every time <3

  7. MikADo says:

i refilled my weekly yandere’ness from this episode
