Beelzebub is feeling the l♥ve this week~
So, episode 8 of Beelzebub starts off with Oga feeding Beel like a good mother parent. D’aww! This episode is cute already.
Don’t worry Hilda, I’m sour about you not getting much screen-time this episode too.
Then an unusually cheerful Furuichi tells Oga that the Queen of the school has returned! He’s very excited about this, in an obvious bid to conceal his flaming homosexuality. Liked being a trap a little too much, eh, Furuichi? Oga on the other hand isn’t bothered by the news, comfortable in his role as the resident DILF.
At the school, all the guys are marvelling over the congregation of girls by the gate when Kunieda shows up in a manner most befittingly badass.
*Que “Eye of the Tiger” music*
Just as Furuichi’s Babe-Sense starts a-tingling, guess who shows up…
SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!!
Moving swiftly on…*eye soap eye soap* Kunieda and her party are having a bit of trouble doing the rounds, they keep getting bothered by the boys. But she soon puts them in their place.
Meanwhile some shadowed femboy named Miwa feels threatened by the fact that there’s another queen in Ishiyama and orders to have it kept an eye on.
It doesn’t take long for Oga and Kunieda to finally cross paths with each other and a challenge is reposed! The beatbox in her head tells her that she’s met him before but they still fight anyway, with Oga inadvertently seducing her.

END THOUGHTS
As good as this episode was I did find it lacking in some ways. Don’t get me wrong, some parts had me roaring with laughter but I guess that the last few episodes have been so good there’s bound to be a dip somewhere. Regardless of that this episode was still enjoyable. Kunieda is pretty fun and I love her lackeys, they are like the Ayane and Chizu of Ishiyama.
The Queen of Ishiyama really stole the show, though, and even Furuichi got more attention than Oga this time around. But it was a nice change. Luckily these characters are given interesting and funny personalities that can carry an episode as well the main character. I personally would love to see an entire episode with, say, just Hilda? Or even my favourite trap, Furuichi!
The mysterious guy that hides in the shadows was kind of weird, I’m not quite sure how to feel about that yet. I hope when he’s properly revealed he’ll be funny and interesting and not just a whiny annoying femboy.

YES. Hilda and Kunieda duke it out. I was just thinking how cool that would be halfway through the episode and BOOM, it’s in the preview. Awesome.

Could someone please cut the idiot who’s responsible for this atrocious scriptwriting into little pieces? Seriously, it’s heartbreaking to see a perfectly fine manga butchered by an idiot. His tendency to totally kill the atmosphere and story progression by repeating bad jokes 7-8 times per ep is downright criminal.
I’m a huge fan of the manga, and eps 7+8 were based on awesome chapters. Seeing them screwed up like this is making me cry.
