Kimi ni Todoke S2 – 02

I have to say this, rabu-triangle-begins-yo~

So, I’m ready with my dish of fruits to enjoy the next episode of Kimi ni Todoke. After a long and sometimes stressful day at office, KnT is ideal to sit back, relax and take in the beauty of this brilliantly made shoujo that takes you to a feel-good place, where you can discover more about the characters you have come to DAWWW over.

From the last frustrating episode—not in case of quality, mind you, rather the following events—time skips ahead a few more weeks with the start of a new term. It’s April and the whole gang is in the second year and two years away from graduation. Miraculously, almost everyone important from the previous class has transferred to the same section D and even if Sawako thinks, it’s like a dream, it’s indeed a reality.

No one messes with Yano-chin~

It’s not only the reunion of the quintet (Sawahaya, Ryuu, Chizu and Yano-chin), but Endo, Ekko and even the annoying Joe are in the same class. By the end of this all, you would hate Joe for being the ever so interrupting person in the history of shoujo but I go ahead of myself. As I hinted in the last review, Yano-chin had a card up her sleeve for the said reunion because she bribed Pin to do just that. However, according to him he already knew who were good friends rather than just friends for show and as they only have two years left to graduation, they should have fun while they can. Which makes me admire Pin a bit for the thought; who knows, maybe his douchey side actually has some good in it.

All that planning didn’t help much and Yano-chin finally throws a moe-blobby tantrum over the stand-till situation between the main protagonists (SISFIST, girl, I am of the same opinion!). It was still quite CUTE! Not to mention the fact that there are still people who call Sawako, Sadako and the typical rumour about her supernatural powers are still rife. Of course, Sawako’s friends are there to encourage her and even appoint her as the class life representative (I don’t have the foggiest of it because I only know of Prefects and Student’s Council). Most probably this means she gets to head the gardening section but c’mon, that sounds like she’s the lawn mower or something… >:

I miss Kuragehime now!

The twist in the episode is of one Kento Miura, who blazes in and pounces at our Sawako-chan. He dares to lay a hand on her and boldly pokes fun at her to the chagrin of Kazehaya and her protectors (Chizu and Yano-chin). He seems to be an Engrish alien to Sawako, who is overwhelmed with his straight-forwardness. He volunteers to be the class Prefect and exudes fabulousness with bishie sparkles. He also takes extra-special interest in our DAWW-Queen, Kuronuma Sawako, witnessing and falling for her smile. I smell more than trouble here!

Coming to Kazehaya-kun finally, his internal battle has not ceased and has actually inflamed with the arrival of the over-friendly-Kento and a nervous Sawako. He wants to take things at his own pace and I literally applauded when he refused Yano’s offer of conveying his feelings to whomever he liked. We know that Yano was pretty much hitting the iron when it was hot but Kazehaya has his pride and to him, the girl he likes should be the first to know about his feelings rather than someone else. I have to admire this, even if I don’t like it.

Coming to the nitty-gritty, the episode pretty much introduced the new term with Kento in the deal of pushing the main pair to some kind of realization. Kazehaya being too popular for his good hasn’t found much time to actually talk to Sawako like he used to when they were sitting around each other. Now that a lot more people have acknowledged the real Sawako, her smile shines through at odd times and causes him to doubt his own position in her eyes.

The last few scenes are the proof of how unsure their communication has become in the current scenario in comparison to somewhat-open when they went out on New Year’s Eve. Misunderstanding of course is the key here and if Sawako didn’t give him the Valentine’s chocolate because she didn’t want it to be giri, Kazehaya mistook her silence as a negative to the fact that he was the most special guy to her. Sawako is unable to come up with any probable answer that keeps their friendship platonic, while Kazehaya simply sighs sadly and makes his way home. Kento being the witness of all this, catches on Sawako’s feelings and stares in wonder.

WHY ARE YOU BOTH SO STUPID? KISS AND MAKE UP ALREADY! I WISH.

STOP STARING AT SAWAKO, SHE’S NOT YOURS TO TAKE

Extra Feel-Goodness~

Obligatory Creepy smiles of the episode~

Not a girly conversation: I swear, it’s this big!

I’m a cool dude, YEAH!

Get your hands off my girl, YO!

Who are you again?

Please some more of this soon too!

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWW~

My expression on Durarara!! season two still not announced!

So reminiscent of Sawako from the last season

End Thoughts:

Graahhhh… Kazehaya, you asked Sawako the wrong question! She’s extremely shy and still growing up to the fact of how love feels. She doesn’t have an inkling of your feelings and she would keep fidgeting till the time you would clearly tell her how you feel and even then success of it depends on which words you use… It’s a sad fact but to her, you are too good to be true and being loved and liked by so many, you are everyone’s Kazehaya rather than hers alone. She thinks her feelings are of greed and should be kept in check. She thinks too much, I know!

Sawako, honey, for a minute, would you please stop being oblivious to your surrounding and actually notice who’s looking at you and around you? Someone you already have feelings for is not fixatedly staring but noticing your every move, every chance he gets! Speak out for once, how you feel rather than always suppressing them in the confusion of moment. Make your intentions known, be bold, be free~

Le sigh… Sadly, my rant is pretty much limited to my aniblogging and Sawahaya are not real that they would actually listen to me. That was just my way to give words to the frustration any watcher would feel. However, even with all of this, KnT is WIN because it successfully makes us riled up at the baka-ness of the main protagonists and increases the love for them because however slow they are in understanding, their feelings emanate a sense of innocence and honesty that is hardly seen in the fan-service-riddled series that come in a dozen in this day and age. Savour every episode, readers, you don’t get such character daily.

Coming to the episode, I was glad that we finally had some Ryuu and Chizu time; they are my next favourite couple after Sawahaya of course. And same goes for Pin and Yano, which was surprising for me of how well it went. At least you have to give props to Yano for trying out her best in getting the two knuckle-heads together but it’s quite clear that things would play out at their own pace (>.<’’). Also, I think Miyano Mamoru is just PERFECT for Kento because who else can take out that awesome Hehhhh~ voice? So good.

These episodes are a refresher for me because it has been months since I read these chapters but from what I remember, Production I.G has done brilliantly in adaptation and animation of every scene. I just wish, they would increase the number of episodes from 13 to maybe 22-24. Someone listening to me?! LISTEN TO WHAT I SAY, DAMN IT!

Preview: The “Forget” title further depresses me but it’s more KnT after all so I will not whine. Seems like Kento is up to no good, while Sawako continues to stare at Kazehaya. When would this vicious circle be broken? I’m sure not going tell you because you are in it with me to rediscover the awesomeness of why Sawahaya is so WIN. Till next time peeps, Ja ne~

    i feel so bad when my man kazehaya looks all depressed ;____;

    lol i remember my frustration when i was reading the manga, around this chapter. it was frustrating, seeing none of them making any move whatsoever >.>

    • Kyokai says:

      That bye bye was so saadddddd!!! ;3;

      We can just wish that the move is made soon and with views increasing Production I.G increases the number of episodes. *keeps all fingers crossed*

      *Also! First comment cookie*

  2. Junko says:

    All we need to do is plait Sawako’s hair, give her some glasses and throw her a Clara plush, instant Tsukimi! Well, Sawako is a little quieter and whole lot less otaku nuts but she’s got the statue transformation down.

    Miyano…I can’t hate you, you know that ;__;

    • Kyokai says:

      Oh Hells Yes… That poking scene was so funny and I just missed the rocky sound whenever Amars became statued. And yes, that is the reason we cannot hate Kento… Damn it!

  3. ichigopockysticks says:

    AAAHHHH Kazehaya aiap9r wrong question. I rember all day tuesday I was waiting for this episode to come out. Oh and my friend finally sat down and watched this (after much pleading from me) she texted me saying she hated me for getting her so addicted. 😀
    and is it that bad when i start comparing people in real life to kazehaya

    • Kyokai says:

      You know what, same here! I was waiting for Wednesday just so that KnT would come out.

      Props for getting another watcher, she’s going to kill you in the process of watching this; just tell her that end would be epic. And sadly, Kazehaya is too good to be true… ;3;

      • ichigopockysticks says:

        She already finished the first season and came back to school and we just squealed all through lunch I think we scared out non otaku guy friend and he thought our conversations about shiki and kuragehime had confused him enough

        • Kyokai says:

          It’s awesome to fangirl with friends! Aren’t your friends used to your rants till now? I have trained my friends quite well now. xD

          • ichigopockysticks says:

            Not him yet and i think the high pitched squeals threw him off because we are normally talking about demon butlers or vampires being murdered 😀

  4. Xiao says:

    Ayane was so awesome~ She’s like “Screw you two, I’m gonna speed things up a bit” but totally backed down when Sawako asked her not to. So cute~ Friendship ftw~ <3

    Ack, it's always hard being supportive from the sidelines during the awkward stage for couples. Especially these two, my god. I swear their seiyuus must make more “um…” and “ah…” noises than actually having any dialogue together. It’s very cute and innocent…but it’s so slow! GARGGH! xD;

    On another note, nice to see some Chizu and Ryuu interaction. We need more Pin (cuz Pin is obnoxious love, hahaha xDDD) and…I’m like Kento a lot more than I thought I would. 😀

    • Kyokai says:

      Yesss! Yano-chin always gives me the hope of some understanding. I don’t think anyone in the KnT-verse is as intelligent as her in comprehending other’s feelings.

      Lol! You are so right about the Ahhas and Etos~ But that is what makes Namikawa & Noto so WIN as Sawahaya~ <333

      Love Chizu-Ryuu pairing and I hope we get to see a glimpse of the wedding and them attending together. Mamoru is the proof that I would never hate Kento. xD

  5. Liza says:

    I loved this episode. It was just so daw although I do hope Sawako and Kazehaya can actually go in their relationship sometime soon.

    Although I really don’t want to say I like it, PinXYano is cute and it works even though he’s a teacher and she’s a student and I’m hoping KnT doesn’t go in that direction, I wish it did. Those two confuse me… Maybe I should focus on RyuXChizu now…

    • Kyokai says:

      You and me, same girl. I can’t wait for them to go for it but as I see it, the big confession and acceptance would come at season two end as the pace is going. ;3;

      There are definitely some undertones going with Yano and Pin and they are never going to be apparent ever sadly. You can always ship Chizu and Ryuu for being the second best in KnT~ xD

  6. berrish17 says:

    awwwww love Kimi ni todoke!!!
    also the fact that Miyano Mamoru’s the voice of Kento <3
    i re-read my manga~ 🙂
    Cant stop repeating the Opening songgggg!!!
    its so addicting…..cant wait for the CD to come out!!

    • Kyokai says:

      Srsly, it’s the feel-good drug for all us druggies. For all those who can’t wait, you can check out the manga because well, I did.

      And I can’t wait for the OP Single too. Eagerly waiting for 23rd Feb now!

  7. Kushi says:

    He He~ Ayane understands how we feel ^_^

    • Kyokai says:

      Yano-chin has her hand on the nerve, sadly the nerve doesn’t want any help. Tsk.

  8. Elyon says:

    I love these guys, but sometimes they’re so frustrating. >_< If I was in the same position as Ayane, I would have killed them by now.

    • Elyon says:

      WAIT, that’s a lie. I would never kill Sawako O_O

      • Kyokai says:

        Hahaa! Who can kill the DAWWWness-Queen? But I know where you are coming from. Sometimes they are so slow that it’s painful. =3=

  9. Starry says:

    THE EPISODE KILLED ME! IT REALLY DID!

    Omg, and I thought that the last episode was bad, but this episode was worse in terms of the FRUSTRATION it gives me!

    Oh my dear, dear, Sawako-chan, why didn’t you say something quickly when he said that totally tsun-tsun lines of his? (Btw, Kazehaya’s totally cute when he’s sulking~) Why must you remain silent and stutter? Why didn’t you say “NO THAT’S NOT TRUE”, like how you were thinking? WHY???? WHY???? WHY MUST YOU LET KAZEHAYA MISUNDERSTAND YOUR REACTION????

    Ok, rant over. 😀

    But *sighs* if this is any indication, the rest of the series is going to be even more heart wrenching and ‘nooooooooooo!!!! don’t do this sawako!!!!’.

    Ahhh… But I still love it though… ^^”

    • Kyokai says:

      Lol! You GO girl! I felt the same way after finishing this but having read the manga, I know it’s not over yet. =3=

      And however frustrated we would get, we would always fangirl over Sawahaya and egg them on even if at snail’s pace. >.>

  10. Hime says:

    The ending made me laugh, all the heavy breathing…I thought KnT was turning into a hentai!

  11. Namika says:

    So painfully sloooooooooow :S I can’t take this, and yet I’m unbelievably eager to see more!!! ==”
    Also, I must say that Kento is a really interesting character))) can’t wait to see more of him! And of course, Sawahaya goodness!! ^3^

    • Kyokai says:

      Yep. Srsly want to smack them upside the head but sadly unable to do much. We love the Sawahaya too much to do it. However, I await eagerly for an episode every week as KnT remains to be one helluva shoujo, hands down!

      • Namika says:

        *handshake*
        KnT turned out one of the best shoujo I’ve ever seen, that I know for certain. I love the gentle, light and bubbly feeling of this anime, it’s has everything and anything that a good shoujo needs. Maybe I’m overrating it, but at least I think so… 🙂

        • Kyokai says:

          *handshake* This is definitely one of my top shoujos. The characters are just too cute~! I’m still waiting for the movie to be subbed. Dunno how they ended it but still, curious enough.

  12. Yi says:

    I loved when Yano threw that tantrum. I feel her frustration as well…
