Ore no Imouto ga Konnai ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai – 11
It’s the end of the Oreimo world as we know it. And we get maids.
After fighting with my computer for several hours to try and get my screencaps working, I finally emerged victorious. Only to realize that I didn’t specify a folder for them to inhabit. Good one, Hato. So inevitably, I had to take the screen again at a later date, which, I’ll be honest, was a little irritating. Alas, I’m here ready for action and ready to blow your minds with the new Oreimo episode review (And if any of you haven’t seen the latest Uncharted 3 trailer, watch it right now).
So with this episode, it begins! The great Manami Vs Kirino battle! Kyousuke meets Manami at the local supermarket and invites her over so she can make him lunch. Upon arrival they seem to intrude upon Kirino waking up and looking a bit annoyed. She comes down and challenges Manami and takes advantage of her not being the smartest thing. She orders her to clean the house and such. To both Kirino’s and Kyousuke’s surprise, she obeys and does a bloody good job of it. All the while Kirino vows not to lose!
And lose she does not. After a breakfast / lunch (brunch?) Kirino seems to be acting rather well mannered (if not a bit robotic) but overall she isn’t at Manami’s throat. Pleased with this, Kyousuke can relax. OR CAN HE?! When Manami asks to see Kyousuke’s room he agrees but as they enter, Kirino’s laptop is back! It’s set up on his desk with some sort of ergo in progress. Kyousuke fights to hit the escape button and succeeds. Only to realise all his porn mags are over his bed (fun fact: They’re all chicks with glasses), and to top it all off, the ergo decides to start up again and Manami catches a glimpse. Then she wonders whether Kyousuke would want her to call him ‘Onii-chan’. He doesn’t take it very well.
And with a swift shift of both scene and story, we open the second half with Kyosuke looking for a hotel of some sort. After presenting his name at reception (the receptionist seems to think it’s ‘hilarious’) the room in question is decorated as “Kyousuke’s Personal Harem Party” or something like that. And as he enters, he’d greeted by both Kirino and Saori in maid outfits. And he’s unaffected by both of them. But he seems to take a liking to Kuroneko. Turns out it’s actually Kirino’s anime party, or something similar. They seem to just hang around and do nothing, though there is a pretty funny manga recital by Kuroneko.
Towards the end of the episode, when it’s Kirino’s turn to present, she back out, opting to do it later. However, she gets a little angry at Kyousuke and that just sets everything off. As he finally confronts her about how much of a bitch she is (it’s only 11 episodes overdue!) she’s pretty quiet about it. She finally mans the ‘eff up and grabs a package, hanging it to Kyousuke. It’s a present. For him. And she thanks him over and over for doing so much for her, and pretty much turning her life around. And being the manly man Kyousuke is, he starts crying. And in that situation, I’m sure a few of you would. After a good while he calms down and opens his present. And it’s an eroge. Trust Kirino, eh?

Wow. Wooooooow. Kirino actually apologized for something she did? Sure, we all knew it was coming but it’s still quite a shock seeing it (kind of like Uncharted 3, eh?). She got quite a bit embarrassed and or felt threatened during the first half, which was pretty surprising. Maybe she really does some sort of weird fantasies? I guess if she does, we’ll find out next week. In the grand finale. Just quietly, I’m hoping there’s no incest. There is a high possibility that there will be, but I really hope that wont be the case.
Moving away from the incest, doesn’t it seem that Kyousuke is taking quite a liking to Kuroneko? Or is it just me? He asks her out on dates, Kuroneko talks about him quite highly, almost admires him, then begins flirting with him (or course jokingly, but it seemed incredibly out of character). Maybe there is some chemistry between the two? Too be honest, I’ve been a little fangirl about that paring and I honestly think it’d be better than Kyousuke and Kirino (God forbid if that happens..) and also better than Kyousuke and Manami. Wishful thinking, I guess.
It’s sad that this series is coming to an end. I’m hoping next episode we get to see more of all the slightly left out characters (and maybe even get a glimpse of Saori’s eyes? They are really annoying me). And if they decide to end this series and leave it as a one off, that would be great. I’d be happy with that. But I mean, we won’t have that, will we. It’s a popular show, a lot of people know that now. I’m sure we’ll be seeing multiple seasons (and or spin offs. Hell, we already have a game!) so I guess we should really be prepared for an announcement at the end of the episode? PREPARE YOURSELVES.

wow.. I actually forgot that the maid party and the visit from Manami over at Kyousuke’s house was in the same episode xD BUT! We finally see the ‘dere’ side of Kirino after many episodes of tsun kirino ^^ (And that is why I said that Kirino is a tsundere)
But damn do I have a soft spot for things like brother and sister bonding (the way she apolagized and how Kyousuke treated her was sweet~) x3

FINALLY!!! The ore-sama Kirino has apologised! I finally like her for the first time, sigh. It’s actually pretty difficult to keep hating a character for so long, phew.
I liked this episode. They managed to make it into a real sibling relationship without the connotations. It’s really sincere, genuine even in its awkwardness. Not that I mind total incest (doujinshis ruined my innocence since 1990), but I guess I really prefer the 2 siblings here as siblings and nothing else. I don’t mind Kirino acting a little tsundere now and then, or showing little tantrums when some girl pops up (i.e. Minami) as a potential for being Kyousuke’s bride, but I reckon that’s actually quite normal in real life too (except Kirino took it a bit too far like a real mother-in-law, haha).
Is it ending soon!?? Noooooo~ But I agree with you, Hato-kun, I don’t mind it ending like this and certainly wouldn’t mind a second season. I do wish I can get my hands on the light novels though…
