Mirai Nikki OVA
WE ARE NOT AMUSED.
Hoshi: So here we are, two girls (OC and Hoshi) with a fetish for dark manga and the like, waiting for this brilliantly sounding OVA to release and dadum! We get our wish! We are set to download, but we notice something strange: a small file size. And what do we find? A NINE MINUTE special (that doesn’t even DESERVE to be called an OVA)! At first, I believed it was just a preview. I started searching madly through the internet for some information, for some tiny hope that we weren’t just trolled. Unfortunately as OC and I have come to realize, this IS the actual “OVA”; nothing but a short overview of the series.
We are quickly shoved from short scene to short scene, from the “imagined” scenes of Deus, the Lord of Time and Space, to the school where our main character, Yukiteru is at. Yukiteru is a lonely kid who writes in his diary of all the things he’s observed. Deus, one day, gives him his cellphone, telling him he’s given him the power of the future.
DIS BITCH…
In Yukiteru’s cellphone diary, he finds all the events that haven’t happened that day and realizes…that they do in fact come true. Later that evening Deus tells him more about it, saying that the diary also has a downside; the fact that Yukiteru must protect it all cost and since the entries in the diary are also the real future of the owner, and if it is lost, then the owner’s future will be lost (a.k.a you’re gonna die).
It’s from there where things start to go haywire and get a little majorly confusing with the appearance of another girl with a future diary, named Yuno, who is also part of this survival game with the future diaries, and the appearance of an epic-ly crazy purple haired girl named Uryuu Minene, who’s planted bombs around Yukiteru’s high school and taken the student population hostage to get Yukiteru.
Apparently Yukiteru and Yuno are almost hit by one, and are seen together. Yuno cheerfully says she’ll kill Minene for him, and do anything for his sake. They two share a kiss, and basically our plotline ends for the rest of the “OVA”.

Hoshi: I’m…like seriously pissed right now.
Overcooled: Me too…Don’t you feel like ranting right now? I DO.
Hoshi: YES AND EVERYTHING SHALL BE IN CAPS LOCK FROM HERE ON OUT.
Overcooled: LOL. CAPS LOCK MEANS SERIOUS BUSINESS.
Hoshi: DAS RIGHT.
Overcooled: BUT SERIOUSLY, WHO MAKES A 9 MIN OVA?!
Hoshi: I KNOW WTF IS THIS BLASPHEMY?! ;A;
Overcooled: THAT WAS JUST HIGHLIGHTS, THE SET-UP. NOT EVEN ANY EPIC PARTS…EXCEPT MAYBE MAKING OUT WITH THAT PINK-HAIRED CHICK…
Hoshi: SERIOUSLY!! IT GETS YOU ALL WORKED UP THINKING “Oh this is going to be awesome!” AND WHAT? NOT EVEN ANY EPIC BATTLES!
Overcooled: The sad thing is, it’s a really good story. Like…it has the potential to be great, but to call this over sized commercial an OVA is just mean.
Hoshi: It does have TONS of potential. I’ve been reading comments everywhere saying the manga is just too good, and really…this OVA feels like a disgrace to the poor manga. All it does is make you want to read the manga, hahaha.
Overcooled: Yeah, I think we were expecting something longer…that’s why we said we’d review it -_- At least it got me interested in the manga. Maybe that’s the goal; to enrage the otaku population to the point where they read the manga to find out what the hell is going on.
Hoshi: Well the OVA was released with the manga~. They definitely fooled us then if it was only to make us read the manga. And I will because it looked interesting from the start…I mean from when I first read the summary.
Overcooled: *sigh* what a tease
Hoshi: Mhm ;A; I’m still really pissed…Though, do you think we should say at least SOME good things about it? |’D
Overcooled: Lol, Uhhhh…animation was pretty.
Hoshi: Yeah hahaha.
Overcooled: And was good enough to make us wanna read the manga?
Hoshi: Hahaha yeah.Wait, i just said that…LOL.
Overcooled: LOL, I wouldn’t have noticed.
Hoshi: I actually liked that purple haired chick with the bombs 8D
Overcooled: Was her seiyuu Kobayashi Yuu? It sounded a little bit like her…
Hoshi: I’m not sure o.o
Overcooled: Wait, never mind I don’t think its her.
Hoshi: I liked the voice though…x’D
Overcooled: Anyways, I FEEL BETRAYED. HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO ME? Our first tagteam too T.T
Hoshi: I KNOW THEY RUINED OUR FIRST TAG TEAM ;A; *swings axe at production team*
Overcooled: XDDD Someone will pay dearly for this…
Hoshi: Definitely…we’ll do this Kill Bill-style..or something x’D

Hoshi: LOL REALLY? XD Yeah we are so off track…
Overcooled: The real message here is that we’ve been trolled…Read the manga. And yeah, Hoshi gives off a really moe feel to me; so cute lol. DONT ASK WHY, MISS CHAINSAW GIRL, just somehow.
Hoshi: LOL that’s lovely XD All in all…WE ARE NOT AMUSED WITH THIS “OVA”.
Bottom line: READ THE MANGA. We’re out~.

well from what you said, they cut a very important part there: there was supposed to be the 3rd diary holder, he was a serial killer and was stalking yuki because he found out yuki was a diary holder, and he was gonna kill him except he was intercepted by yuno, then BAM he’s dead.
that was supposed to be what yuno’s first appearance.
and the minene was supposed to appear AFTER they killed the 3rd.

ino, i didn’t expect it to be this short, but a pilot’s a pilot, and the manga’s pretty much ending soon. One chapter to go. It may have ended already me thinks and it just hasn’t been translated yet.
