Kuragehime – 05

Time to armor yourselves ladies (and gentlemen)~!!

~Yo it’s Hoshi, once again writing another Kuragehime post in place of our beloved Kyokai. Don’t worry folks; she’ll be back next week ;D I must admit though I really did want to write the review for this episode because it certainly had an epic ending I couldn’t help but want to completely fangirl over!

While our poor Tsukimi tries to forget the horrifying experience of Shu looking at her in her tank top, Chieko deals with her mother, who wants to sell Amamizu-kan not only from the pressure of the redevelopment plans, but for the money as well.

Now, remember the redevelopment plans that would transform the nunnery into a high-rise hotel? It looks like the plans will be moving into action as a local presentation of it is being held. Our girls decide to march into battle and try to defend their beloved nunnery!

Once there however, they are quickly overwhelmed by the atmosphere, and to make it worse (for Tsukimi that is) Shu is there as well.

Oh poor Tsukimi…I know exactly how you feel~.

It is here we are also introduced to the slut–err, villainous woman in Kuragehime: Shoko Inari, the representative of the company working on the redevelopment.  Here she may appear as very career-woman like,  but as Mayaya said, “There’s a demon behind that vixen!!”.

Unfortunately, Mayaya’s loud talking towards the other sisters makes Shoko bring all the attention onto them. As one of the things the Sisterhood can’t deal with, they all quickly run out, leaving poor Cheiko stunned in her chair. Tsukimi offers to go back for her, dealing with both the rain and her emotions towards Shu as she spots him and Shoko together (Shoko, however, only getting close to him to get him to go with the redevelopment plans).

Tsukimi winds up coming back to the nunnery where Kuranosuke is already waiting at. She looks herself in her room, and doesn’t come out. The others make it back not being able to say anything in protest. Kuranosuke however won’t let them give up without a fight, even making Tsukimi come out of her room to tell her.

Kuranosuke goes home to change and grab some things, and suddenly, back at the nunnery, Mayaya is swept away by him, taken behind a screen door!!

Horrific things are going on behind that door…(and not in the dirty sense)

Our warrior Mayaya, aided by Kuranosuke’s amazing make-over powers, is magically transformed into…

…a Chic woman! (HOLY MOLEY–!!)

Kuranosuke tells the sisters that they don’t need to necessarily start being stylish and untrue to themselves, but at least dress for battle and get the people who judge by appearances. With that, Kuranosuke begins to make-over the rest of the sisters, working on Bamba first~.

Gotta love Bamba’s afro xD

“AFRO-CONTAINED!”

A little Pic spam if you don’t mind:

He’s hidin in yo’ conscience, stealing all yo’ innocent thoughts…

Some of the lovely pieces of animation from this episode~

We so weren’t digging in the trash! I don’t know what you’re talking about!

I love how they don’t know who Nicole Richie is; HILARIOUS XD

End thoughts: The ending totally blew my mind for a while; I’m not even joking! I was so surprised to see Mayaya suddenly transformed like that! I was sitting in my chair going, “THIS. IS. EPIC!!” At first, when Kuranosuke just grabbed her, and you started hearing those sounds, you just KNEW he was going to make her over, but how she was going to look like is what makes you all excited and anxious. Then when she comes out, it’s like BAM! Mayaya is Nicole Richie in this most epic transformation! XD Mayaya looked really awesome, and Bamba looked SO ADORABLE WITH THAT WIG! *A* I just wanna squeeze her like a little doll~!! (Okay I’m done…)

This is one of the episodes that really shows how amazing the animation is for Kuragehime. The parts where she imagined herself in the water and such were lovely~. Paired with the music, it made me feel really calm and serene, as if I were in it myself. -sigh- Brain’s Base don’t make me have to make you my mistress (mister since I’m a girl? I don’t know |’D)! I’m a dedicated lover to A-1! Well, I guess we can have something on the side…

Anyways, putting my studio love life to the side, finally we have a pretty major conflict for our sisters, which is going to stress me out until tomorrow, but it’s exciting! We were turning towards the romance aspect and then suddenly we were swept into action (in a way)! I’m really excited to see what everyone else looks like next week, and how they’re going to try to win this ‘battle’ with that whore-face Shoko trying to seduce Shu. Ugh, I already don’t like her =3= She’s an obvious enemy to the Sisterhood! I’m starting to sound like Mayaya now, hahaha~.

Preview: Again, because I’m such a fail at this, I’m not able to get screencaps for the preview, but the Sisters are all dressed up in their fashion armor for battle! Yet it also looks like Shoko might be getting a little too close to Shu…GAH! Until next week then, with our lovely Kyokai taking hold of the review!

I loooved this episode! Mayaya’s transformation was amazing! I loved the “afro sealed” part! And yes, she does look cute in that wig. I still like Banba’s afro better though… I mean, that thing is hilarious! AGH!!!! I HATE SHOKO!!!! Also, I loved Kuranosuke’s outfit this week! It’s my favorite so far.

~The “afro-sealed” thing was hilarious! xD And yes, Bamba’s afro will forever be better because it’s an amazing afro, hahahaha. I didn’t like Kuranosuke’s outfit too much this week ^^; Only at the end when he had the ponytail and the red shirt.

I like how Mayaya’s checking herself out in the mirror.

  3. Kyokai says:

I love this show so much! Loved how Kuranosuke took the gauntlet to help out the amars. Can’t wait for the next one! ^^

Agreed with Amutofan123 on Shoko. Hate that damn woman! Ugh.

    • Hoshi says:

~I do too, so much!!<3 Yes, the next episode is going to be so amazing!

      I agree as well =A=;

Kuranosuke looks better, when less overdone 😀 however we all love kuranosuke no matter his clothes

  5. Hana says:

I loved some of those shots that were used too, which, along with the music, were a great way to convey Tsukimi’s inner world. Poor Tsukimi, eh!

Looking forward to the next epi, as I have been since the first epi lol, clearly it’s becoming a big favourite with many of us! 🙂

    • Hoshi says:

~They really were< I hope her inner emotions and such are better next week.

I've been completely obsessed with this show since the first episode too, hahaha XD It's just so good~.

Ne, Hoshi, I know it’s completly unrelated, but can you tell me maybe where to read some more manga of Asumiko Nakamura? The Yaoi ones are no problem, although I wish that I could read Sotsugyousei in English, but I want to read the other manga too, and I can’t find most of them >_____<
Also I'm sorry that I posted it here, but I'm afraid you wouldn't see my comment if I posted it on your Asumiko Nakamura Post. I already posted a comment like this on your Bakuman post, but somehow it wasn't shown. I'm very sorry! *bows*

  7. Junko says:

Yep, I’m still in love with this show.

Watching Tsukimi literatly get swept away in her thoughts was upsettingly lovely, and it’s nice to see that the she isn’t always going to loud and weepy in her inner thought like alot of lead female characters. Tsukimi love <3

The transformations are going to be awesome too, is Bamba going to follow that wig up with some cute clothes? (loita-esque? PLEASE!!). General excitment here 😀

Also, laughed pretty hard every time puppet-uncle popped up XD

    • Hoshi says:

~Exactly; she’s gonna be our strong female lead! ;D

Uwah yes~ I mostly looking forward to the transformations myself xD Bamba as a lolita would be so adorable!!

Me too~!! XD I was like “What the–?!”

This has got to be one of the best anime shows this season. I must say though Mayaya’s and Banba’s transformations were total win. Especially hwo Mayaya started checking herself out afterwards.
Also the animation scene pictures you took were BEAUTIFUL! Beautiful soundtrack along with it too. ^^

    • Hoshi says:

~Kuragehime definitely is the best show this season *A* And the transformations were just too epic XD
The show does have really a lovely soundtrack, I can’t wait for the OST (if they release one)~!

  9. Kurochi says:

*whew* I finally caught up to this……
After the first episode(which didn’t amaze me that much) following Kugarehime was a bit of a chore, but now I’m glad that I didn’t drop it!
I’m SO eager to see everyone in their ‘fashion armor’ XD because I LOVED how Mayaya looked, actually *_* Kuranosuke is a magician! *O* and in counterweight, (as cute as he is) Shu is an absolute idiot =з=

    • Hoshi says:

~YESSS I’m glad more and more people are starting to watch Kuragehime! 8D
      I am too XD I’ve been giddy all week thinking about it, hahaha. Shu is turning out to be a idiot -sigh- =3=;
